I will put it simply - the Asics Gel Contend 7 is the best running and walking shoe I have tried in the last 10 years, except for the much more expensive Kayano (triple the price). I run 3-4 times a week for 10km and they have shown amazing durability and a great combination of comfort and support. They are also fantastic for walking, especially in the black color which can be worn with nice clothes.
I liked them so much that I bought 2 pairs back to back, even though my first pair lasted 1000 km of running without any problems. The Nova Blast, Cumulus, Kayano, and Nimbus may be more impressive in terms of initial feel due to their more cushioned sensation, but the Contend prove to be as soft as the average user needs and more durable than necessary.
If we factor in the price at 40-50 euros, they truly have no competition as the models I mentioned earlier are in the range of 100-180 euros. The only alternative for under 100 euros is the Gel Excite, which excels in comfort but tears more easily.Translated from Greek ·- Comfort

If you want them for relaxed running, spend an extra 20€ and get something better. The first time I wore them and went for a run, they hurt my feet. Terrible shoe fit.

I received it immediately. I wear size 45.5 in Nike and everything I have bought so far has been tight. This time, I decided to change brands and went for size 46 as it was recommended.
Well, it does say 11 1/2, which in Nike is 45.5, while here it is 46. They fit very snugly, especially around the ankle and heel, and the laces are completely loose. Also, the toe box is small, and I feel like my big toe is sticking out of the sole on the side.
Additionally, if you have wider feet, you might find them a bit tight. I have one finger's width of empty space in the front, so theoretically, it's my size.
The sole feels soft and supportive, not like air soles, of course. For their price, they are much better than the corresponding Nike shoes, which have become even worse than army boots.
The construction is of good quality, with thick sponge-like material around the edges.
I will give them a chance since I just took them out of the box. Maybe I should have gone for size 46.5, but I was afraid they would be too big. All of this is with thin socks, and even with athletic socks, they won't be one size smaller. So, if you go up one size, whoever buys them from Nike, for example, can do so without worry, but they don't mention that anywhere.

I use them not for training but for walking, although I think they would be fine for amateur running (running ≤ 10 km). They are comfortable and... dog. After a year and a half of daily use and many washes in the washing machine, they have started to wear out in front of the seam, but they are still fine. I will definitely buy them again, maybe in a different color just for a change.

The size is slightly smaller compared to other Asics with the same number that I have purchased. I have noticed this in another Gel Contend of the previous generation as well. It is narrow in the front and hits the little toe, and it will definitely wear out if you wear them constantly for about 9 months. The construction is much better and of higher quality compared to other Asics at this price.

Just a mediocre shoe. I wanted them for everyday use, not running. No comparison to the Asics Gel-Contend 4 that I had bought and was the best value for money shoe of the year. I thought it would be the same with the next models. Unfortunately, that's not the case. It's a completely different shoe. Size, sole, comfort, construction, everything is different from the Asics Gel-Contend 4 that I still have and sometimes I think about sticking the front piece that has come off and wearing them again.
Maybe I should have chosen the Asics Scout with the same money? I don't know.

The shoes I usually choose are the flagship models of each company due to my foot surgery. I chose this one because of the high rating it has on comparative forums on the internet. I have to say that they pleasantly surprised me when I wore them on my feet. They are very comfortable, lightweight, and have a very good feel when walking. I cannot comment on their durability as I have been wearing them for about two months. But I recommend them for those who want value for money purchases.
After a year and something, I change my evaluation as the sole, which was very comfortable and soft, has become hard and lost all the absorption it had when I bought it, as a result I can no longer wear them, even though they have no external damage they have become bad as I now feel pain every time I wear them. Quite good with satisfactory shock absorption even for me who runs 100 kilometers per week. They may be slightly larger than the classic size. I recommend them for long, relaxed, and generally slower and longer workouts as they are not very fast shoes.

Extremely problematic shoe. I have Reebok, Adidas, Nike, and Asics sneakers. I decided to try Asics sports shoes. I wear size 43.5 to 44 depending on the brand. In these, I wanted 44.5. The 44.5 leaves a gap at the big toe from the shoe, which means I didn't want a bigger size. It is narrow to the point that it especially squeezes the instep. As you can see in the photo, the tongue has a significant gap on the sides. And it's not that I have a large instep, I never had a problem there with any other shoe. It presses on me to the point where I can't bear it on the upper part after a while. It also squeezes significantly on the sides, so I take them off and feel relief. Look at the laces, they are very small, I could barely tie them. Overall, it feels stiff and not elastic at all, you walk and it makes noise. Heavier than all my old sports shoes, I weighed them on a kitchen scale. I fell for the positive reviews, what can I say.
Luckily, I exchanged them! The salesperson also told me that with Asics sports shoes, if you want to get something good, you have to spend at least 80 and more. The kid has had them for a month. He forgot about his old shoes and wears these now. They are stable, comfortable, with a great sole and good support in the heel. They have good cushioning and provide good support on the sides.
At +35€, the Asics GT1000 are better (in my opinion). Maybe the sole is a bit high, but you get used to it. I don't know about durability, probably average since they have mesh on top. If someone lifts weights at work, I would look into leather tennis-style shoes.

One of the best shoes in this price range (around 65 euros in stores), the prices here (46-50 euros) are unbeatable. The best value for money you can give!
I have been wearing them for over 9 months at work and they have served me so well, also maintaining their shape and good condition so persistently that I didn't realize how long I had them.
They are the first pair that lasted more than 6 months wearing them not only at the store where I work but also outside of it. The others would come off or tear much earlier under these conditions.
For anyone wondering, I work in a supermarket. We're talking about over 8 kilometers of walking on an almost daily basis. And I can vouch for it, unlike other pairs of "work" shoes, I wore these a lot even outside of work.
As comfortable as my other Asics shoes that cost around 180 euros, another reason why I wore them more than the usual "work" shoes.
After so many months, the sole started to wear out and I didn't even need to think about it, I blindly ordered the exact same pair. It arrived today and will simply stay in its box waiting for the old one to wear out.
In conclusion, the best and most comfortable shoes I have bought for this price. I am 43 and have been wearing sports shoes almost daily since I was a child. ;)

Good shoe for its category. Comfortable and relatively lightweight, perfect for everyday use and walking or even running.
