In DC electric motors, at the point where the electric current is supplied to their rotating part, two brushes (also called carbon brushes) are used. Over time, due to friction, the brushes wear out and need to be replaced. For this reason, in recent years, brushless electric motors have been developed, which far surpass a brushed motor.
Advantages
Due to the absence of brushes, they exhibit minimal mechanical wear and the need for maintenance is minimized.

Simply unacceptable, I got it with a 5Ah battery, after 20 holes with a 6mm drill in brick the battery drains, I send it to service and they tell me there is no problem and that I should have been informed by the place I bought it from that I should have gotten it with a larger battery!
First time I buy a tool from the brand Dewalt and I see myself buying more. This specific tool seems very powerful. I will come back again after using it
As I have read the comments, I will now mention the following:
It has a lot of power to the point where if you hold it with one hand, you can't control it.
But it is not conceivable for a reliable tool from a big company to drill with a 6mm drill bit and have play.
The whole axis is crooked, but what do you expect from Chinese products.
You should know that it enlarges the hole, and I am very afraid that it will throw off a piece on tiles.
If you don't want high precision, go for it.
Otherwise, choose another company.
Very good and powerful especially with the flexvolt battery! The only issue it has is that after 10 minutes of use, the nozzle came off the handle. However, it is worth the money!
Simply perfect!
I am a professional plumber, at first I was afraid that battery-powered tools would not have enough power, etc. Well, I will never go back to using electricity. Perfect and effortless
Powerful and lightweight tool. It is definitely worth its money, and between us, it is not expensive compared to the previous one (Hilti) that I had paid a fortune for.
It was purchased 20 days ago, I have worked with it using a 10mm drill on concrete and it did not struggle at all. It has good battery life! It has 2 5ah batteries. If something bothers me, I will return for comments!
Unbelievable machine for its price! Lightweight and powerful (3J)! It works easily on concrete/brick digging/drilling! It struggles a bit with F68 for opening boxes in reinforced concrete (pot corona), but that's expected. Combine it with 4-cutting drill bits for even better performance on larger diameter holes and it won't struggle anywhere (tested with F24x460mm on concrete). Also, the larger batteries you get, the better (in terms of operating time). Personally, I preferred the 5Ah ones because the flexvolt ones are too heavy overall to work with without getting tired. Quite low noise. It was placed in a Toughcase 2.0 with enough space in the foam for the accessories I use with it. I highly recommend it, if I notice anything, I will inform!
Update: I was concerned about the switch issue mentioned in some comments, I also encountered it BUT the solution is in the battery connection with the tool, it just needs cleaning with some spray (ideally contact spray) when the tool gets too dusty... sometimes even a blow helps.
Flawless, tested repeatedly on hard stone, must buy
Purchased for 320€ two weeks ago from a hardware store. Unfortunately, I was not informed that within 1 month I had to register the product with Dewalt for warranty extension. So, I lost +2 years of warranty.
As for the product, it is powerful and convenient. Its battery (5Ah) lasted for 140 holes with a 6mm drill bit, 4cm deep in concrete.
Now, the negatives:
1. Its construction has weak points, such as the anti-vibration feature on the handle.
2. Unfortunately, yesterday, after 2 weeks of occasional use, it started to cut off during operation. I had to release the switch and press it again for it to work for 2 seconds and then stop. I don't know if it's a switch issue or something worse. My previous Makita never broke (only had to replace the carbon brushes in 11 years), but it was corded and not suitable for some tasks. I am in contact with Dewalt service and will provide more details later.
Update 23/2/2021:
Just received it back from the service, they said they didn't find any faults. They told me to continue using it and if it happens again, to send it back. I shouldn't have accepted it, but I will update on the progress.
Awesome tool. Very powerful in drilling and digging. I use it professionally and with an extra flexvolt battery that I bought, I don't know if I will ever touch electricity again with my hands!
