Thanks to its wedge-shaped head, with the right momentum and technique, it splits any thick piece of trunk straight in two, even if it contains roots. Some do not know that this particular type of axe is for splitting and not for limbing - cutting wood for kindling. That type of axe has a narrow profile and is lightweight to cut with speed, while this one here is wedge-shaped and heavy, so it cuts with its weight. It is nicely sharpened. If it doesn't cut, it's the technique's fault and not the axe's: it requires more force. For its price, it's excellent! We're always talking about the large 90cm.
Honest axe! Its weight helps in splitting wood. However, it is not sharp enough.
You need to put some force, otherwise it doesn't split the wood right away.
The handle is decent as well, despite being plastic. It doesn't slip, but it transmits vibrations more than wooden handles, which combined with the reduced "sharpness" makes it even more difficult and tiring.
It does its job for 5-10 logs per day. It's not for splitting 2 tons of wood at once.
I have the axe for half the winter and I want it to split large pieces of wood. I think the blade should be narrower in the front. Sharper, how can I put it differently. So it can split more easily.
It shows a very sturdy construction, the only objection I have is that its edge is very blunt, I don't know if it can be sharpened, if it can be, I believe the situation will be somehow improved.
The axe is exactly as described, I tried it and it easily splits large pieces of wood without any effort. The handle is very helpful because it doesn't cause any strain on the wrist.
I tried to cut firewood and no matter how much force I applied, it didn't open any. It would have been dangerous if I had applied more force. Otherwise, the construction seems good.
Extremely good price. We have already split 1 ton of pine, cypress, and soon we will try it on olive wood. It is heavy enough to hit hard and with a long handle that, although plastic, seems to withstand.
