Research shows that Panic Disorder is spreading rapidly among the populations of developed societies and is justifiably characterized as the epidemic of the 21st century. The causes are unknown, and treatment is essentially limited to the use of sedative drugs. Psychiatrist Kostas Gotzamanis, after many years of working with people suffering from panic attacks, presents his own scientific position on the etiology of Panic Disorder in a concise and thorough manner and proposes a different, effective therapeutic approach.

Anxiety disorders and panic attacks are undoubtedly one of the scourges of our time and are the most common reasons why people visit mental health professionals. In the book "Panic, the Great Uprising Within Us," psychiatrist Kostas Gotzamanis presents in an amazingly simple, readable, and at the same time imaginative way what happens in the case of panic attacks, unfolding a different and interesting approach. The author analyzes step by step how panic is created, what differentiates it from fears, presents stories of panic, and finally proposes a method of treatment. It is worth reading if the subject concerns you or someone close to you, and certainly if you are in the position of professionals who work therapeutically with panic attacks.
Very nice book without preaching wants to present the long experience of the Author on how someone reaches to face crises or panic crisis! The internal democracy, the renegotiation with the characters, the work with ourselves, but also the change in stereotypical beliefs that it sets, is something essential!
The book is simple and understandable but also comprehensive in its meanings, terms, and examples. Personally, the author's perspective that fears arise when we have more than one option opened up new horizons for me (which is comforting because in difficult moments of life when we have no other choice, we will manage), as well as the conclusion of the book that to overcome fears, virtue and courage are needed, and we should take into consideration our sub-selves without prejudice and fixed beliefs.
Very bad, absolute and exclusionary approach. Every person is unique and that is why each therapeutic approach finds resonance in a certain segment of the population. The fact that one approach does not suit everyone and that there is no one and only "cure" for panic does not invalidate the effectiveness of many valuable therapeutic approaches. This is the first time I am writing a book review, but it truly provoked incredible anger, especially since it has absolutely nothing to offer to the reader (and possibly someone who is suffering) except for contemplation without suggested real options and coping methods.
