Reviews
The 1557 is one of the best papers from the Canson company. This specific one, at 120 grams, is perfect for pencil or charcoal, although I have only tried it with graphite and charcoal, I believe it will be great for ink and markers as well. Very good paper for its price and since in Greece, I can't easily find Strathmore or Fabriano, it is one of the best papers for drawing with pencil/charcoal, etc. Importantly, in an accident I had while erasing forcefully, the paper folded and creased, but it neither tore nor had any damage on its surface, no matter how many times I erased in the same spot! Its tooth (which is not related to the photo showing it with charcoal and appearing intense and large) is medium to fine, not very bothersome and at the same time, it helps the material (graphite, charcoal, etc.) to stay on the paper, while also providing good contrast. Perfect tooth, perfect white color and not slightly cream, like the 1557 at 160gsm. Overall, a quality paper, one of the best options available at this price.
