WARNING: Masks with valves only protect the wearer. The valve does not filter the exhaled air, therefore it does not protect those around us. Use with caution
Excellent mask, fits securely and most importantly does not hinder breathing at all. It feels the same as wearing a surgical mask. I wear it while walking and I can go 6 km without any restrictions.
Very important that glasses do not fog up, because it has a protective cushion around the nose which (if adjusted correctly) prevents breath from fogging up the glasses.
It does not apply behind the ears but behind the head. The only one that fits correctly on the face out of all the ones I have tried. It has slightly thin straps but they do not bother.
3M is considered a champion in high protection masks. The positive aspect of the exhalation valve is that it maintains a good internal temperature within the mask, breathing becomes easier, and the fit remains stable for many hours. The downside is that it does not protect those around you, as part of the exhaled air is not filtered, unlike the inhaled air. However, those around you are better protected by someone wearing a mask with a valve than by those wearing surgical or fabric masks. This is because only a small percentage of exhaled air comes out unfiltered from the valve, unlike surgical masks, where the percentage can reach up to 74%, due to a moderate fit and gaps. This specific mask has Dutch CE certification and received emergency import approval from the American FDA in 2020 (EUA) during the PPE shortage. They are made in England. There are videos on YouTube that show easy and professional ways to achieve a good fit. Generally, 3M disposable masks had the highest pass rate among workers (80%-90%) in most professional fit studies (quantitative fit test) compared to other brands. This means a fit factor above 100 (and often above 200), which indicates inward leakage significantly less than 1%. This, combined with 3M's internal filters, which achieve effectiveness well above 99%, makes their purchase a no-brainer for good fit for those who do not have access to professional fit tests. The Aura models along with the 8833+, 8835+ models fit a wide variety of different faces.
It goes without saying that such small leakage percentages in other masks that fit over the ears are not achieved even remotely and are not significantly improved with ear savers. In cheap earloop FFP2 masks, the leakage with a good fit is 7% - 10%, while it can reach and exceed 25% (i.e., protection below 75%) when the mask is simply placed poorly. While the filters of FFP2 masks provide protection above 94%, a significant role is played by how much air passes unfiltered around the mask, especially from the nose area. Therefore, for a good seal, a good nose piece and head straps are required.
Always choose to purchase from official 3M resellers in Greece.
The glasses do not fog up at all, that's why I bought them. They fit very well and you can breathe easily, mainly through the mouth and not through the nose.
I received it in a transparent, soft plastic packaging, sealed, with 3M indications and "made in UK" label, 3M logo, and brief application instructions with icons on the packaging. The mask has an expiration date of 02/04/2025, various other indications/codes, and a factory address of 3M in Kowalska 143, 51-424 Wrocław, PL (Poland). I tried it, it is excellent, with great ease of breathing and perfect fit, for the uses recommended by 3M. I recommend it as long as it is "genuine," like I believe the one I received is.
