I bought it two days ago to connect it to the (mediocre factory) audio system of a BMW 3 Series (E90).
It was installed in the compartment under the armrest with a permanent power supply from the car's relevant USB port, as shown in the photo.
I am only interested in listening to music, and I have no experience with open listening systems, nor am I interested in them, so for those who are concerned, I should mention that even though it is closed inside the compartment during a call, they could hear me and I could hear them normally, but I cannot contribute anything more to the discussion.
It opens and closes automatically with the engine's operation and is powered/charged only when the engine is running (in any case, the car cuts off power supply when the engine is not running).
It connected immediately to the iPhone and after the initial connection, it automatically connects as soon as the engine starts.
I did not notice a low volume level, as mentioned in other posts, the volume is normal assuming it is set relatively high on the phone, definitely above 50%, around 80% in my case. This also has to do with the pre-amplification level of the auxiliary line-in input of the audio system (in the BMW, it is adjustable from 0 to 5, around 4 seems to have the best results).
As for the sound quality, I will reserve judgment because, as I mentioned earlier, the sound of the audio system is generally mediocre.
Therefore, it only makes sense to compare it with other sound sources.
It is used for playing lossless FLAC files that are either on the phone or come from a streaming service (Tidal) with the option to select lossless formats.
The sound quality is definitely better than the radio (expected, as all stations broadcast heavily compressed music) and equally good as CD playback.
So the conclusion is that the sound is perfectly satisfactory, with the small reservation of impressions from a better and more expensive audio system, but it does not seem to fall short.
As for its durability over time, obviously I have no opinion after two days, it will show in the future.
In conclusion, given that the sound is good and that after the connection-installation, I no longer need to deal with it, I consider it an excellent purchase.
(For those interested, a few additional things about sound quality. We must not forget that a connection via the auxiliary line-in is a classic analog connection and, like anything related to analog sound, it is directly dependent on the quality of the hardware. I do not imagine anyone expecting the relevant line-in circuit of the car's audio system to be a standard of quality, especially for a cheap factory audio system. This check can be done by connecting the source directly to the aux-in using a cable, for example, from the headphone output, without the intervention of Bluetooth, and see what sound quality it produces. As for this specific Bluetooth, safer conclusions can be drawn if one uses a cable from mini jack to two RCA and connects it to a line-in input of a home audio amplifier and evaluates the sound quality there.) I tried it on my own, either by directly connecting an older iPhone with headphone output to a mini jack, through a cable to the amplifier, or through Bluetooth, where no significant difference was observed in the result, which is a positive fact. Obviously, the above also answers the question of how easily we can connect our mobile phone to the home sound system.
Update: The good impressions about sound quality were confirmed today after replacing the factory speakers with higher quality ones. This specific Bluetooth indeed provides decent sound.
