POWERTECH Mini DC UPS PT-749 with 2600mAh battery, 12V, 2.1A Mini UPS with rechargeable Samsung battery, ideal for use in low power consumption devices, such as home routers. With the PT-749 connected to your router, you will continue to have phone and internet in case of a power outage.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Used to hold the provider's modem and the TP LINK MESH WiFi that I operate as AP inside the house. Useful device.
If it falls, it will immediately break the plastic parts are hard and break like Brittle Plastic.
It has a sticker with some numbers... under this sticker there is a small screw, unscrew it and open the cover that contains the Samsung battery.
When the battery is damaged, you recycle the one inside and replace it with another one costing 4-5 euros.
For the ZTE H1600 router (12v, 2A, 24w) provided by Cosmote for FTTH, it's Ok. It charged in 2hrs and powers without heating up, smelling, or buzzing at all. With the 2600mAh it provides, it keeps the 2A router running for 90 hours during a power outage. Update: 20 months later, it stopped working as a UPS, flashing a red faulty indicator. It simply remains plugged in for the router's basic power supply.
After 7 months, a red faulty indicator is blinking. The included battery [ICR18650 2600mAh 3.7V SOSLLI 9.62Wh 220112] went off, likely due to overheating. I replaced it with a new one to test if it happens again.
It stopped working as a UPS after about a month. (It only functioned as a regular power supply).
I returned it requesting a refund. The store chose to repair it (or replace it - it was not clear) and send it back to me.
It arrived turned on (they hadn't powered it off) before they put it in the packaging and with a broken plug. (see video).
I'm not going through the process of returning it again, I consider it counterproductive to send it back and forth via courier for a product that costs 30 euros.
I will repair it myself and keep it as a backup (after testing it for a while) even though I don't trust it much.
It is very practical and useful for the home router without taking up any space as it replaces the power supply. I tried turning off the power and it worked flawlessly. We will see how long it will last over time.
I have put it on a PTZ camera in my country house due to the frequent power outages and it lasts for about 1 1/5 hours. I have the rubber and the phone on a UPS
I bought it in October 2022 and in August 2023, a red light turns on, possibly indicating that the battery is not charging. We will see, I ordered another one. It works fine when plugged in.
I bought two, with serial numbers differing by 2, which means "same batch". I had one in the Vodafone Modem and the other in an Asus Router. I had a long power outage once and it lasted for 2+ hours, so I am very satisfied with that. However, after 11 months, the one I had in the Modem stopped functioning properly as a UPS. I mean that it continued to provide power to the modem as a transformer, but in the slightest interruption, even momentarily, it would not hold and would shut off, and when the power came back on, the indicator light would flash red (fault). It is likely a battery issue, but I have sent it back as it is still under warranty. I still don't know if they will simply replace the battery or if there is an issue with the charging circuit, for example. We shall see. However, while they were working, they worked well.
Very good for what it does, just don't get it if you want it for your router unless you have fiber optic because it can't cover the power supply of the fiber optic. It will keep the router on but without internet in case of a power outage. So, you would need 2 of these if you have fiber optic.
Perfect! I connected it to my Cosmote router and now the frequent interruptions due to voltage fluctuations in the building (I live in an old apartment building) have stopped.
5/5. I can't understand why I didn't get it for so long. In my area, we have frequent power outages and my router has calmed down now. It keeps it alive for about 2 hours. Long time. With closed eyes ...
Honest and works as it should. I have installed it on a wind router and I don't need to wait 5 minutes to reconnect to the internet, unlike what DEI will do
I have many in operation, over 4 on various devices, routers, switches, phones, etc. The problems I encountered are two:
a) The quality of the plastics is unacceptable and they open for no reason. You will need instant glue or tape.
b) After a few days, half of them stopped working due to a bad battery... I removed it, thank God it is very easy due to the presence of a special slot that opens with a screw, and I put in a 18650 made in Japan. Now they work flawlessly.
My router/internet has never been safer! Especially in Greece, where we constantly have small interruptions or changes in voltage, this product saved us!!
Update: about a year later, my father tried to unplug it from the socket and the cover came off and the cables got pulled instead of coming out of the socket. I replaced it with a regular small UPS, like the one provided by Cosmote.
It does the job it's supposed to do and it does it excellently! Satisfied!! At the moment of the photo, I have unplugged it from the power and the router's function continues smoothly. I have another one on the phone. The router keeps it open for hours.
I have connected cameras and routers for 4 months now and during a long outage, it lasted for 3 hours+. It is exactly what is needed for this job.
I bought 5-6 pieces to put on one the router and the rest on IP cameras (with patent). I have internet and live cameras without power for at least 2 hours! (I just stopped counting at 2 hours and 5 minutes)
Edit: When I bought them, they were 22€. The price has now doubled! -1 star for the price. So there are other alternatives now.
Bad construction, it arrived and everything was loose, so I had to assemble it and put tape on it to keep it from opening.

For a router, it is just what I needed. I had a half-hour interruption and it still had battery.
