Twenty-five years ago, a teenage boy named Charlie Cramptry committed a murder so horrifying that it took on almost mythical proportions and inspired more than one copycat killing.

Paul managed to gradually piece his life back together and make a fresh start. However, now his elderly mother's condition, suffering from dementia, has worsened. And, although he reacts with every fiber of his being to the possibility of returning, he knows that the time has come to go back home.

Things quickly take a turn for the worse. Paul learns that another copycat murder has occurred, mimicking that old crime. His mother is disturbed and insists that something is in the house.
