Before the review, I must mention some data.
a) No modern vacuum cleaner is as powerful as the old ones anymore. Unfortunately, due to the pointless (for me) directive of the European Union, there is a limit of 900W Max for electric vacuum cleaners. So all have become weaker, and the diameter of the suction tubes has necessarily been reduced to compensate for this to some extent.
b) This specific type of vacuum cleaner does not replace the main vacuum but works as an auxiliary for easy and daily use.
Based on the above, the initial impressions for this one are absolutely positive. In any case, these are personal assessments based on my own use, needs, and expectations from a vacuum cleaner.
1) Power: Absolutely satisfactory for the type and use of the vacuum cleaner. In no case is it the super powerful vacuum that will replace your main one, but it is definitely not a vacuum that you would say is wasted money, it doesn’t pick up anything. In relation to its nominal power (600W), I would say it pulls perhaps a click more than I would expect. It has no power levels. Just one, but for the aforementioned simple use and for the cost category, it is not particularly lacking as a function. In a future upgrade, it would be good to have. However, it is likely that very few times someone would use a lower power.
2) Suction: Clearly, it will suck up all the small bits from floors as well as from carpets. Its main function in my house is to clean the kitchen (floor and carpet) and very quickly the hallways and the rest of the house (mainly from small bits and dust). 100% success in everything.
3) Suction on floors: I saw no problem, and I had no issue with the small bits falling back onto the floor. In most cases, a second pass was not needed.
4) Suction on carpets with short pile: It picks up thick bits as well as some hairs (I don’t have pets in the house). YES, you will need to pass the head over the spots more than once, but I need to do that with my main Miele vacuum of 3600W, so it doesn’t make a difference in use for me. It will suck up the everyday small bits. Anything that has stuck inside the pile may not be. But personally, I saw that those it didn’t suck up were stuck in the carpet, and I struggled to get them out even by hand.
5) Suction on carpets and rugs with fringes: Acceptable. Again, it will suck up the everyday thick bits. Anything that has sunk deep into the pile may not be. It depends on the type and weave of the carpet each time. However, it will clean enough so that the carpet doesn’t look dirty.
6) Noise level: It’s not the quietest, but it doesn’t make excessive noise either. I would say it makes more noise than my old Miele, but mainly that the noise is sharper and not as bassy, thus it is more annoying. However, it’s not something that you would say is unbearable. Generally, this is characteristic of this type of vacuum (with cord or battery) because due to their small size, their motors are higher RPM to achieve the same performance, hence the more intense and sharp noise. Additionally, it should be considered that you have the source of the sound closer to your ear and not down on the floor 1-2 meters away from you. So all good.
7) Build quality: It’s not a star in its plastics, but it’s not completely thin and fragile either. Also, the design of the shape gives additional durability. Like all, it requires a bit of care. It’s not bulletproof. For the price range, it is more than a good construction. It cannot be that this type of vacuum cleaners has a particularly strong construction because then they become heavy to use and tire the hand.
8) Assembly of parts: It could be better. There are no loose parts that are ready to come out. The two main pieces snap together and snap well. It requires a bit of pressure to snap them, so when they need to be unsnapped, it takes a bit of effort (not too much). Unfortunately, the sole does not snap in but just fits in. However, it did not create a problem during use. It stays in place. For the price category, again, it is more than good.
9) Design of the suction head: Simple classic design. It does not enhance the power, but the lack of a brush makes daily use convenient without the need for cleaning from hair and without the need for power loss for the brush's movement. Lightweight head that moves comfortably on floors but equally comfortably on carpets. There is no option for a floor and carpet brush, but in practice, it is not needed. It moves well on the carpet, and on the floor, it has a rubber piece at the back that collects anything that escapes. EXCELLENT movement and rotation of the head in every direction. It literally turns everywhere effortlessly. Also, an EXCELLENT feature is the very low height of the head, which helps the vacuum cleaner to fit under low furniture.
10) Weight: Neither heavy nor super light. If I had to characterize it somehow, I would say it is light. Like all vacuum cleaners with the motor high up, it will tire your wrist somewhat compared to classic vacuum cleaners. It will tire quickly if you hold it from the back handle because all its weight falls on your wrist. However, if you hold it from the top handle, then its weight shifts to your hand and shoulder, so it will not tire excessively. You can do it easily due to its easy rolling.
11) Heat: It was used continuously for quick cleaning of a house with a kitchen, large living room, 3 bedrooms, and a hallway with the radiators at 21 degrees. No overheating or malfunction was observed. Of course, a warm air comes close to your hand due to the motor, but it never became particularly annoying or particularly warm/hot.
12) Cord length: Sufficient for its use, I would say. OK. You change rooms and change sockets. In practice, the two bedrooms were cleaned from the hallway socket. The living room could not be cleaned with one socket. I had to change. Yes, there you wish it had an additional 1.0-1.5 meters of cord, but it's a minor issue. Especially if we consider that a longer cord in the rest of the use is probably a problem because you have it at your feet and it gets tangled in various furniture, and you have to gather more meters every time you move or store it (thus making it heavier). I think the cord length is correct.
13) Storage: I did not pay much attention. I put a long hook on the side of a cupboard at the storage point, wrapped it with foam materials, and hung it. The fact that the head rotates everywhere helps it not to stick out, taking up minimal space. No problem. I would like it to have a storage support for the 2 head accessories, but for its price, I might be asking for too much. The storage issue for the 2 accessories was solved with the use of a plastic zip case that was hung on the same hook with the vacuum cleaner.
14) Bin: Not large but sufficient for cleaning 1-2 rooms for sure. I cleaned the whole house. It depends on what is there and how clean it is. Easy to remove and clean. You need to be careful not to break the plastic clip that snaps in. We are older people, I assume it is feasible. Time will tell.
15) Filters: It has three. One made of fabric (outside the HEPA), one HEPA, and one before the motor on the main body of the vacuum. The first two are in one piece on the bin that comes out easily for cleaning (classic arrangement). Unfortunately, the fabric one is very difficult to remove and put back on the HEPA, so it is not recommended to wash it often. However, it doesn't need it because it cleans very easily with just your fingers. It mainly gets dirty in the 1/3 close to the edge, and the dirt creates a film that you can "unwrap" easily. Using an old toothbrush is always recommended for cleaning the filters (both the fabric one and the HEPA). Personally, I bought an additional set (fabric + HEPA) for just 4 euros so that the vacuum can still be used even when the filters have been washed, and to have a backup for future use. I might buy a second set because if the vacuum lasts for years, where will you find filters later...
16) Durability in long-term use: Unknown. But for its price, if it lasts 3 years, it’s not a big deal.
17) Overall assessment: Very good for its price and performance. Just make sure you know what you are buying and what to expect.
18) Would I buy it again: Yes
