The temperature and humidity sensor cable is compatible with the Smart Hubs RM4 mini and RM4 Pro. By connecting it, you can easily monitor the temperature and humidity of the room it is in. Manufactured from high-quality materials, it is resistant to minor mechanical damage, fractures, or abrasions.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
If you get the Broadlink RM4 Pro or Mini, it's a shame not to have this cable that is both a power cable and a Temperature/Humidity sensor. With this, you can use automations like "if the temperature rises above 30°C, turn on the air conditioner to 25°" or "if the humidity rises above 65%, turn on the dehumidifier."
Unfortunately, the sensors are not accurate at all. I bought 3, one for each room. I placed them experimentally in the same spot and after leaving them for about 2 hours to stabilize, one showed 22.3 C, the other 21.1 C, and the third 20.4 C. At the same time, the actual temperature at that specific point, measured with a precision thermometer, was 19.6C. I consider a deviation of 2-3 degrees to be too much, especially in a closed space. I bought them wanting to automate the operation of the air conditioners through the Broadlink ecosystem. To turn on automatically when the room temperature drops to, for example, 19 C, but with such deviations, this is impossible. But practically, even if they were accurate, they are not convenient because they have to be connected directly to the IR devices (RM4 mini), somewhere opposite the air conditioners, or at least in the wider field of warm air emission. They cannot be placed autonomously, hidden in such a way that they are not directly affected by the warm air flow. So the values they show when the air conditioners are operating have an even greater deviation from the actual ones. As for the humidity indications, they are completely unrealistic.
The sensor is reliable, almost identical measurements compared to others I have from different companies!
Reliable for its price, applies even to older A/C models only with a custom reader for the remote control.
I have it connected to the RM4 Mini. It doesn't require any special setup as it detects and displays it directly in the application (just like in Home Assistant where it immediately appears as a new entity). Compared to an Aqara that I have, it has a deviation of +/- 0.5 degrees. Ideally, I would like the cable to be a little longer because if you plug it into a power strip on the floor, it won't reach high enough to take a "proper" measurement. I can't express an opinion on the humidity measurement as I haven't dealt with it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs something simple, has a low budget, and isn't concerned about this small temperature deviation.
The best thing! You can add routines for a/c, dehumidifier, etc. based on the sensor. And within Broadlink as well as in smart hubs like Alexa, Google, etc.
The truth is that it is accurate in its measurements. Reading the reviews, I expected it to write anything, but I compare it to a thermometer from Lidl (which I believe is quite accurate) and it gives exactly the same measurements.
It does its job, measures temperature and humidity, and you can program actions based on its measurements, such as turning on the air conditioner or a dehumidifier. You can also ask Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa what the temperature is in the room. The deviation I measured between this and my thermostat was +/- 0.5 degrees. It is not precise, but I believe it has an acceptable deviation.
I changed it from the original and it worked immediately. It's a shame though that the company provides it as an extra. With the original purchase price (RM pro), it should be included.
It's fine for its price.
WARNING: The humidity sensor does not work with Alexa, so while you can see it from the Broadlink app, you cannot ask about the humidity levels of the space.
On the contrary, the temperature worked perfectly.
Very good for its price, the application found it immediately and showed measurements without any extra adjustment. As soon as I linked the Broadlink account to Google Home, it can directly tell you humidity and temperature levels.
The only negative is the very short length of the cable.
In collaboration with the RM4 mini, it brings humidity/temperature to the broadlink application.
Also, the application keeps a history which is quite convenient.
Through Google Home, it does not display the readings, but it responds when asked about temperature/humidity. This means that it cannot easily play scenarios (e.g. if humidity is greater than 60%, then turn on the dehumidifier). It may be able to work with IFTTT, though.
On the positive side, the price is good (if we consider that we are already buying the RM4mini anyway).
On the negative side, the cable length is very short and there is no way to play scenarios out of the box.
Overall, it is a decent choice considering that similar measurement solutions have triple the cost
