Human understanding of the physical world is full of gaps. Not small gaps that we can ignore, but huge deficiencies in our basic perceptions of how the world works. The creator of the webcomic phdcomics.com, Jorge Cham, and particle physicist Daniel Whiteson join forces to explore everything we know about the universe: the enormous holes that exist in our knowledge of the world. Using inventive infographics and cartoons, and unusually entertaining and vivid scientific explanations, they give us the best answers available at the moment to many questions that continue to baffle scientists, such as:
-Why is there a speed limit in the universe?
-Why aren't we all made of antimatter?
-What (or who) is attacking Earth with tiny, super-fast projectiles?
-What is dark matter, and why does it keep ignoring us?
Although the universe is full of bizarre things that make no sense, Cham and Whiteson compellingly argue that the questions we can't answer are just as interesting as those we can.
This richly illustrated introduction to the greatest mysteries of physics also demystifies many complex issues that we do know about, from quarks and neutrinos to gravitational waves and exploding black holes. Offering us equal doses of humor and delight, Cham and Whiteson invite us to see the universe as a potentially vast uncharted expanse that remains available for us to explore.

Amazing book, I learned a lot of things. The only thing that bothered me is the material they used for the cover. It is not durable enough.
Excellent book!
I have read several popular science books and this is definitely one of the best, personally my favorite.
As a downside, I would say that the humor of the book has not been translated into Greek as I imagine it will be in the English version, which, however, could not have been done in advance (it contains several humorous puns, etc.).
Accessible, understandable, interesting. A book of popular science that is worth reading. Personally, it taught me many new things
Simply top!!
I have no words, I read it and indeed all the questions listed in the contents were answered.
Wonderful book of popular science. It definitely helps to have a prior knowledge of physics or generally the natural sciences, but the writing style is so simple and incredibly enjoyable and humorous that the reading experience will be beautiful for any reader.
Very well-written book! Each page had a clever and humorous sketch. Of course, sometimes the pun in the sketch didn't make sense in Greek because it was made in English (I don't mention it as a negative).
As a physics teacher, I will say that the book is completely understandable for people who have the knowledge. I say this because I see in the comments that everyone will understand them. The book is written and understandable for everyone, but because most people will not have the prerequisite knowledge (obviously because they have not dealt with it, not for any other reason), they will not understand everything.
However, it can be a stimulus for a high school student (and why not for an adult) to decide to engage with physics in the future.
I consider such books necessary for us teachers as we have learned many things, but they were not explained to us properly. This book will put them in order to some extent.
Excellent book, easy to read with plenty of doses of humor for both young and old. Even a child over the age of 12 could easily read it, without this meaning that it is not worth it for more experienced readers.
Very well-written book with plenty of doses of humor, through which you can understand quite a few obscure concepts
Amazing book, very simply and clearly written.
I highly recommend it.
