Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
I also confirm the bad reviews; my daughter is scared of the Gruffalo and the witch; it is not suitable for small children
I didn't like it at all. I don't know where to start...
the illustrations are very ugly, nothing like many new children's books that are truly works of art. even the butterfly is drawn ugly.
some stories are not good at all. the Gruffalo is presented in an overly detailed way, which might scare some kids. There is a story about a witch that a dragon wants to eat. the climax is the last fairy tale with Elias (which really makes no sense), in which a ghost is shown holding its own head!
I really can't understand why it has so many good reviews. I don't know what age groups it might be aimed at... it's definitely not for children under 6 who can't distinguish reality from fantasy.
I gave 2 stars only for the stories with the little monkey and George which are nice as stories. the same concept with these stories can be found in other fairy tales as well, so they are not original
You will say, all the stories collected, it comes out cheaper, you win, right? Not at all. The negatives are the heavy weight, for very small children. And the fact that you will definitely read 2-3 stories together because they simply like them... :P
I remove one star because it is very very heavy.
It is not convenient for a child, nor for the parent to hold it for a long time.
Other than that, all the stories are incredible!!
I just would have preferred to have bought them separately...
This book is the best one can truly buy.
First of all, I must say that the stories are very nice and the illustrations are among the most beautiful I have seen. It suits both young and old people.
Also, something else extremely important is that with approximately 13 euros, we can buy a total of 8 stories, which if you buy them as individual books, it will cost you about 4 times more, as if you search, you will find all the following stories as individual books with prices ranging from 5.5~6.5 euros per book, and here with 13 euros, you get all 8!
The book has a hardcover and glossy pages with coating, much better printing and brighter colors than most fairy tales I have generally purchased.
It includes the following stories:
The Gruffalo
The Little Gruffalo
A broom, but what a broom!
Monkey Business
The Whale and the Snail
The Most Beautiful Giant in Town
Fits, doesn't fit
The story of Elias who loved books
Excellent book. The pages are thin and require careful handling by children as they can easily tear. It has endless stories that will keep your little ones entertained for hours, whether reading together or on their own. Beautiful illustrations, but most importantly, it will teach the child about many different faces, animals, colors, objects, emotions, seasons, and maybe even touch on empathy. My little one is 2.5 years old and we got it as a starting point. It's worth having in every library. With 240 pages, we can even call it a tome.
I do not believe that the stories of Gruffalo and the witch are intended for very young children as the description of the monster (Gruffalo) and the dragon (in the witch's story) is very vivid and can frighten them. I cannot understand why a children's book needed so much detail. The illustrations are indeed impressive. The story with the little monkey is very good, we have not read the others yet.
Although it is for 6+ years old, my 4-year-old godchild loved it as well as my friend's daughter of the same age. I highly recommend it!
A book with so many wonderful stories that you don't know which one to choose. If I had to buy only one book for my child's children's library, it would be this one.
Awesome book with beautiful illustrations!! Impressive size! All the stories are entertaining and the little 19-month-old is impressed. We read it every day!
Very nice stories, each one conveying its own message to the child. It's worth its money and more, since for the price of one, you essentially get 8 very good fairy tales. My 3.5-year-old son has gradually become hooked on almost all of the stories.
Wonderful... nice stories, pictures, quality... keeps the child's interest. It is our favorite book
Fantastic book, they won us over with the illustrations and the text, we want to read it every day!!
I had bought it as a gift for children and I am looking forward to it being reissued so that we can add it to our own collection. The quality of the edition is incredible and, combined with the size and number of stories, I believe it is unquestionably value for money.
Favorite Book!! We initially bought The Gruffalo and The Broom, but what a broom they became our favorite books. So I bought it with closed eyes and I didn't regret it. A little heavy, of course, but very good quality, nice texts, excellent illustrations, the children love it and they don't get bored
Excellent illustration.
It contains several stories as you can see in the photo I have uploaded.
Compared to other books for ages three to six, it is worth the money and more.
Some of Donaldson's best stories, excellent illustrations, excellent binding, very successful translation into Greek, excellent overall edition, worth having it in every child's library!
Many stories with excellent content, we read it again and again and the child's interest remains unchanged! Very good quality as a book. It's just a little heavy. Like an encyclopedia volume.
I ordered the classic yellow book with The Gruffalo, but the bookstore recommended this edition to me, with more stories. I am very happy that they did.
The book is excellent. It is big, with a hardcover and good binding. The paper is of very good quality, it doesn't tear easily. The illustrations are impressive. Full-page images that my children often just sit and observe. The letters are medium to large, convenient for children who are just learning to read.
The book has 8 interesting stories. My son, who is almost 7 years old, listens to them with interest. It is definitely suitable for much younger ages as well, I think from 3-4 years old.
A very good choice for a children's gift.
