- Preheat the oven. Grease only the bottom of the pan.
- Mix the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs in a large bowl with a mixer on medium speed or beat vigorously by hand for 2 minutes. Pour into the pan.
- Bake as indicated in the chart or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan. Cool completely before frosting.
- Baking time (in minutes)*: 30-35. If using a dark or non-stick pan, bake 3-5 minutes longer.
