Description

Desiccant dehumidifier without compressor and with ionizer. It is based on the properties of the highly absorbent material Zeolite, whose composition allows the absorption of moisture.

The dehumidifier with zeolite Kullhaus DDQ10L innovates:

  • Dehumidifier with zeolite with the highest dehumidification capacity of 10 liters/day.
  • Kullhaus desiccant dehumidifier, the only one for low temperatures.
  • Silent operation with even greater efficiency.
  • Room ionizer.
  • Pre-filter & Activated Carbon Filter.
  • Unique design that blends harmoniously into the space.

KULLSAVE: The smart energy-saving function

With the Humidity Setting [Humid] button, adjust the desired relative humidity, ideally 50-55%. If the requested humidity level is higher than the room humidity, the humidity indicator light remains steadily on and the Kullhaus DDQ10L desiccant dehumidifier will work as long as needed to achieve the target.

When the desired relative humidity is achieved, the humidity indicator light flashes, and the dehumidifier will enter energy-saving mode: the thermal resistance turns off immediately, and the fan operates for 2 minutes (necessary time to cool the interior of the device). The device will be in sleep mode for 15 minutes.

After a 15-minute pause, the fan will operate for 2 minutes to check the room's relative humidity. If the relative humidity has increased by approximately +5% above the desired level, the Kullhaus DDQ10L desiccant dehumidifier will enter dehumidification mode. Otherwise, it goes into sleep mode for another 15 minutes, during which the fan stops, and so on.

With the KULLSAVE energy-saving function, the desiccant dehumidifier Kullhaus DDQ10L further reduces operating costs.

  • Measured consumption 420W(Low) / 740W(High)
  • Internal thermal resistance
  • The dry air that exits is approximately 10°C warmer than the room air.
  • Digital settings ensure that the dehumidifier will work exactly as needed, offering even greater savings.

One month owner. Ground floor studio apartment of 38 sqm but with a height of 4.5 meters. And because the volume of air is the desired one, it corresponds to about 70 sqm due to the height. The 4 buttons are very user-friendly with simple and clear instructions. It started with 78% humidity, which is a lot, and I asked it for 50% in AUTO mode. The room temperature was 19 degrees. It worked continuously on the high setting for about 5 hours and reached the desired 50%. From there, the heating element turns off and the fan operates for a while to cool it down until it turns off as well. After about a quarter, only the fan operates on the low setting to monitor the humidity. If the humidity is 53 degrees or higher, it starts operating on the low setting until it brings it down to 50 and so on. There is a very subtle smell in the first hour if you get close. The noise on the high setting is tolerable and minimal on the low setting, to the point where it doesn't disturb sleep. It raised the room temperature and it has never dropped below 19.5 degrees. I haven't used the air conditioning during this whole period, which I would normally use on some days. It consumes a lot of water during this period. It now releases 1-2 liters per day, depending on the weather. The tank holds 4+ liters and has a user-friendly lid to prevent spills during transportation, as well as a handle. It has improved the quality of sleep and overall living inside the house, resulting in well-being and relaxation. You can feel and sense natural warmth just by entering from outside. The space feels more comfortable and the walls have changed temperature due to the dry air it emits. And because I knew from the beginning that it is power-consuming, at around 450 watts on the low setting, I installed a consumption meter for the last 15 days. The reading shows 119.5 kilowatt-hours, which means 8 per day. Considering what I have saved from the air conditioning and in terms of health, with the improved quality of life it offers, I consider myself a winner with the 100-110 euros it will cost me in consumption for the quarter. The next purchase will be a Winix air purifier.

UPDATE 31/12/2023
The machine has been running flawlessly for 2 years. It still works the same way it did on the first day it was plugged in. I have only changed its operating mode due to the prices in kilowatt-hours. This means that I no longer operate it 24 hours a day, but I turn it on when I see that the hygrometer reaches 60. I operate it as long as it takes to bring the humidity down to 50 once a day in the afternoon, whenever needed. With about three hours of operation, it easily reduces the humidity from 60 to 50 on the low setting, which means a consumption of approximately 1.5 kilowatt-hours per day. This only happens during months when there is humidity in the environment, such as autumn, winter, and occasionally in spring. During the summer months when the humidity is at normal levels, the dehumidifier is stored. During the two winters we have gone through together, as there is no other heating method in the space, its operation has been minimized and only when the outside temperature drops below 2-3 degrees. The indoor temperature remains constant at 19 to 22 degrees depending on the outside temperature. I should clarify that the studio apartment is surrounded by party walls and only one side has contact with the external environment, where the main entrance and one window are located.
I mention it because it will definitely have different results in a space that is completely exposed to the external environment.

I am sharing my experience because I saw that it is one of the TOP products. I am truly angry and disappointed with the product and the company that produces it. From the first day, it started releasing small white particles and a strange smell, which I thought would stop once I researched and found out it was from the zeolite. After 10 days, it stopped releasing particles but the smell has not decreased at all. If I could describe the smell, it is like when you try to light a lighter multiple times and it doesn't ignite. The claim that it collects ten liters per day is a joke. I tested it in a closed space with a pool and a jacuzzi where I work, with 100% humidity, and on the 40%-high setting, it collected 6.5 liters in 24 hours. I contacted the company and I was shocked by their condescending attitude towards my problem. I am also a professional, and when my clients have an issue, I try to solve it with politeness and willingness.

Excellent choice, large water tank. It does its job. Just like with all dehumidifiers, remember to change the filter in the back every year.

After almost a month - not continuous use, but occasional, as I have it in my vacation home - I note the following: 1. It does a good job in dehumidifying and the space is much warmer automatically, without constant heating.
    2. The water tank is sufficient, depending on the humidity of the space of course. Emptying every two days.
    3. It is not silent, but at the low level, the little noise it makes is easily tolerable.
    4. It emits relatively warm air, so it is very pleasant for winter conditions.
    5. It seems to be of good quality construction. Time will tell.
    6. I have no opinion on power consumption yet.

If you don't have very low temperatures at home, where only zeolite dehumidifiers perform correctly, it is better to buy one with a compressor as zeolite always smells, even if only a little, and it has much higher consumption.
If you have very low temperatures, it is the only way and the most efficient and economical in terms of electricity, as a compressor dehumidifier does not perform correctly at low temperatures. If you have above 18-20 degrees, prefer one with a compressor.
The smell of zeolite has decreased a lot after 2 weeks but it remains. It is not bothersome. I made a wrong purchase because I always have temperatures above 20 degrees at home.

I have had the same company's dehumidifier with the Qualis 20L Ion compressor for many years and I am very satisfied. In my new house, without central heating and with a temperature that drops to 13 degrees Celsius, it struggled, so I bought this dehumidifier with zeolite. It is very high quality, quiet, and effective in combating humidity. The first time I used it with an open window, but it didn't have any bad smell. The temperature in the room increases by 1-1.5 degrees Celsius imperceptibly. We will see in terms of consumption.

So far, everything is good, I believe it reduces humidity slower compared to a compressor dehumidifier, but it warms up the atmosphere so you lose something and gain something. In 2 days, the difference in our house is noticeable (85 sqm), resulting in more efficient heating. The only negative thing I have noticed so far is that it has not been able to work in auto mode. That is, to reach 55% humidity and then shut off. It works continuously.
Update: After about 25 days of use, the house has changed for the better and now it reaches the desired humidity percentage and shuts off. Good purchase.

I was looking for a dehumidifier with a drying material and a dehumidification capacity greater than 8 liters that everyone has, and I found this one. It has helped my house for the past 15 days since I have had it, with the terrible humidity I had. It is quiet, so I leave it on some nights to run.

I bought two in late November, one for the country house and one for home, and I have to say the following:
    1. The smell of it in the first few days is really unbearable.
    2. The noise is the same as the MEACO DD8L that I had and it broke down.
    3. After the first few days, it continues to have a smell of electronic paste, like when you used to buy a new television.

In the end, I raised the issues with the store where I bought them and we agreed that they would replace them with new ones from a different brand.
