The USB ports are in the extras as you connect it to a USB to power it and it gives you 2 ports to connect other devices. A switch for on/off of the vertical lighting and a switch to change the color of the lighting (RGB) on the LED base. The only downside is that it doesn't have an on/off switch for the base lighting, so if you don't want any lighting at all, you simply don't give it power. What else could anyone ask for?
