I bought it yesterday, and it's my first automatic mask, I haven't worked with others to have a more objective opinion, BUT what I found is that it does NOT have instant darkening. It takes almost half a second to darken, which if you want it for professional use will simply tire you out unless you close your eyes and open them after it has darkened. I have checked all this with the flashlight at home, not with regular welding. I hope with the regular one it will change and have instant darkening. I am eagerly waiting to go to work to see it in normal conditions to express a more complete opinion.
The downsides are that it doesn't have an on-off button and you drain the batteries excessively faster, and the shade adjuster is somewhat confusing, starting from 5/9 going up to 12 then back down to 7 until 9. Very silly. Couldn't it be in the order of 5-13 to finish?
Nice looking mask, but if it doesn't work on Tuesday when we weld on the ship as it should, then it's not worth the money.
I will return with more when I try it...
Well, after a year I have to say... for welding with the RIGHT SETTING, the mask is UNMATCHED. AMAZING!!!! IT'S WORTH GETTING.
Now the ONLY downside is the front lens that costs 4€! And if you change it once a week, you need 16€ a month. Better to get Netflix!
Anyone who welds professionally, meaning all day every day, needs an electronic one that takes those square lenses whether large or small that we have in shipyards....
So if you get it for home and hobby...
Perfect mask and compared to others I have tried (I already have in my arsenal) it is by far a very good choice. I would like to emphasize that the adjustment settings are more than enough and truly functional. It doesn't "sag" after some use.
The truth is that this is my first electronic mask that I have purchased. The use I make of it is personal and not professional. I bought it after a lot of research and reading. Inside the box, there is also an eight-page booklet with low-quality images and small letters. Personally, because I couldn't find instructions online, I scanned and enlarged this particular booklet (a funny stinginess of the importer), but luckily it is in Greek. I don't have experience from long hours of use, but from the little I have used it, I am truly impressed. A huge advantage is not having to constantly have one hand occupied with the mask and being able to see the electrode and the welding point until the last moment. It adjusts well on the head and has a wide range of visibility. One can adjust it exactly as they want, there is no problem that I read in reviews of other masks, the 3-4 second delay in restoring visibility after the flash. The side plastic windows are green and do not change during the flash, nor do they bother, even slightly. On the contrary, they help to have better peripheral vision. I believe that in any case, it is worth giving a little more money to get it because besides making the job much more comfortable, it will perfectly protect the eyes and face. If I have anything to add, I will come back.
It looks very good, the "master" approved it (I bought it for amateur use, I haven't worked with it hard), I liked the fact that you can adjust everything as you want, straps, glass, up and down, you need to pay attention to these things at the beginning
