I had a ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD Monitor that broke in 3 years. I bought this screen a week ago and from the moment I opened it, something doesn't feel right. Initially, it seems that even if I slightly change the viewing angle, the image changes a lot. It reminds me a bit of the old TN monitors. It also seems to have a glossy finish. I've been trying for a week now with the settings to see if I can fix it, but I'm disappointed. I should note that I was very satisfied with my previous monitor. I can't understand if this is how the screen is or if it has some defect...
Awesome monitor especially for the price I found it (€290). Awesome response time at 2k 120hz which I use on my series x. Also, awesome colors especially if you tweak the settings a bit. The only negative is a little bit of backlight bleeding at the top of the screen
Having been burned two years ago by the IPS bleed and glow of a Gigabyte Aorus AD27QD (which was replaced the first time and refunded the second time), I was hesitant to proceed with the purchase, even though it had the highest scores for black uniformity (for IPS) and very high scores in the other categories according to rtings.com's review.
Fortunately, I didn't hold back and went ahead with the purchase of the best monitor I have ever had in my hands so far.
In regards to what I feared, the bleed is non-existent and there is minimal glow in the center, which you have to really look for to notice.
The incredible thing is that my previous VA monitor (Samsung 27CHG70) had many more areas where it "whitened" and they were much more noticeable than this one!
As for the colors, they are the best I have ever seen. I also applied the calibrated color profile from rtings, although I didn't notice any difference.
The brightness is exceptional and the response up to 144Hz is incredibly smooth.
I don't have an opinion on the ergonomics of the stand as I mounted it directly on an arm.
It includes DP, HDMI, and USB cables.
If I have to find a negative, it would be the position of the joystick for the menu, which can be bypassed if you connect the USB to your computer and use the OSD Sidekick to access the menu. Plus, you can also update the firmware from there.
Real diamond. Excellent in everything. Response time? Nonexistent ghosting. Input lag? Incredibly low, ideal for competitive gaming.
What can I say, guys, about this monitor? I was truly amazed. Firstly, we all know that the image on a 27-inch 2K monitor is crispy. 144Hz with low input lag and minimal ghosting make it ideal for gaming and more. It's also comfortable for simple browsing.
Menu? Very easy, and the mini joystick on the back makes it even better. But the best part is that it also has a program that allows you to change everything from there. Just make sure to have the USB connected to see the screen. Oh, and it also has a USB hub.
If I had to mention something negative, I would say that the stand doesn't rotate. But really, who puts the monitor sideways?
Positives:
+ Incredibly low input lag.
+ Minimal ghosting. (I would say it's better to put response time in the Speed section)
+ IPS screen, which means amazing colors. Suitable for professional use as well.
+ Pleasant menu with the combination of the Mini Joystick and the program (OSD Sidestick) is super duper.
+ VESA 100x100
+ USB 3 hub
+ I've read that you can overclock it to 165Hz! I didn't do it just because my graphics card struggles at 120fps in games. I don't think the 5600XT can consistently handle 165fps.
Negatives:
- The stand not having rotation. Minor downside, I have it on VESA.
- It has a bit of backlight bleed on the upper left. Of course, this is characteristic of IPS panels. Some call it backlight bleed, I say it's just the colors overflowing beautifully.
Conclusion:
Get it with your eyes closed. Just make sure you have a powerful PC that can handle at least 120fps. It works really well with my 5600XT.
And what can I say about the company, I was truly amazed by the motherboard I bought from them. Now with the monitor, kudos to them. Well done
I bought the monitor purely for gaming a week ago. The best value for money. Minimal backlight bleed. FreeSync works perfectly.
After a month, I am completely satisfied. The monitor is 144hz and not 165hz. Its speakers are satisfactory but nothing extraordinary. The colors are excellent for 8-bit and with a little tuning from Gigabyte's program, it will satisfy your eyes :-)
