  Purchased for use as a second monitor, it was placed on an old LG monitor that only provides VGA output. As soon as I connected it, it worked immediately at the maximum resolution for my desktop PC, so it will permanently stay in this specific spot. I would not recommend it for laptop use because the cable is thin and it will wear out quickly. Look for something more durable!

  Purchased for connection to a monitor that only has one VGA port and a maximum resolution of 1680x1050.
  It was tested with 2 different new laptops (HP Pro & Lenovo) and never worked properly. I tried various resolutions, but either it didn't work at all, or it worked but with poor quality, the image was not centered, it was blurry and had flickering.
  And because the positive reviews impressed me, I also tried it on a television that had VGA and it didn't work there either.

I plugged it in and unplugged it 1000 times from my laptop and projector, and it worked on the 1001st time. But after that, it never worked again.
