Using it is very easy: just place the sponge cake inside the ring after it has cooled and cut it with a knife halfway through. Thanks to the grooves in the ring, the knife stays level, allowing the slices to always be cut to the same thickness. Then, hold the sponge cake steady with one hand, and twist the ring 180º to cut the other half.

    It is not very stable. The compartments do not help to cut the slices straight because they "play". If you have a steady hand, you don't need it anyway. I use it with oil glue as a grilling tool and not to cut slices.
