And we were cut off from our Greekness, the one that was emitted during the golden age of our history by the authorities of the human spirit, speaking our language, shaping our identity, and elevating our soul to the world of Ideas, far from the ephemeral and perishable pursuits of the daily life of myopic horizons. Today we are called to rediscover our ancestral heritage and bear its weight. Because it is not enough that we were born Greeks, we must reach the height that befits the Greeks. Plato's "Republic," the supreme work on virtue and justice by the quintessentially universal philosopher, shows us the path to seeking a better today. We just need to know and understand it. This is what we aim for with the present work.
