Owner of the here and 8 months... I was one of the lucky ones who passed through my hands for a month and the 85RF 1.2 (which I borrowed from a professional friend), so I have a comparative result. The RF 85 2 is a great Value for money. It is a very lightweight lens, excellent combo with the R6 in grip and feel. Its sharpness at f2 is UNBEATABLE, but equally unbeatable is the sharpness of the expensive L 85mm 1.2. For someone who is not a "bokeh lover" and a fan of super cream bokeh but settles for good bokeh that they can achieve with a f2 lens, the lens is simply wonderful. When you manage to place your subject at a great distance from the background, then you achieve bokeh equivalent to lenses with a larger aperture. In simple words, the lens is almost excellent as a final image representation (if one considers that there is never a perfect lens). Its drawbacks now focus on issues related to the whole process of taking a photo and not the final result, as, as I mentioned before, an infinite eye hardly detects a difference in the quality of the photo you ultimately take. However, it has average autofocus speed. Annoyingly, sometimes it has focus breathing, which makes it unsuitable for video. It is also a bit noisy when trying to focus. It does not have the speed of autofocus, for example, the 70-200 f2.8, but it is not slow either. On the plus side, it has the ability to transform into something "like macro"... The term macro in its title is a bit misleading... it is not exactly a macro lens, but it has a relative ability for macro that makes it quite playful. For its price at 550-650, it is perfect for someone who loves the 85 range and wants a stable prime with image quality that reaches excellence.
