Quite good construction for its price.
I had an older model for years, in which at some point the lid that holds the batteries broke.
I have no way to confirm the measurements it takes.
It is functional, but it loses one star because it is relatively slow in measuring. However, for its price, it does the job as it should!
I assume it measures correctly. I did a test, boiled water in the kettle, and as soon as it boiled, I placed the thermometer and the temperature reached 95.2 degrees Celsius. The conclusions are up to you! For the price of €5.95 with shipping, it's fine.
I am very satisfied with the Digital Thermometer with Probe for the following reasons.
1. It measures temperature (with very good accuracy - I assume, I don't have another thermometer to measure the temperature of hot oil. Experiments on humans have shown that it is accurate at low temperatures).
2. It has buttons (I don't know what they do or if they work, but they seem to be for chefs).
3. It is set to Celsius by default (it has an indication) and I don't get confused with strange units of measurement that some people invent (see Fahrenheit).
4. The probe has a satisfactory length and you don't need to put your hand in the hot oil to see if it's time to put the meatball/squid in.
5. It has a nice cover that prevents the probe from breaking or getting dirty easily.
Two negatives that I found are the following.
1. My food is cooked correctly without it, so I didn't really need it, but I bought it for 5 euros with shipping, it will be useful somewhere.
2. The probe, if inserted into anything, needs cleaning and it is not waterproof, so cloth -> a little soap without a sponge -> cloth with water, it's a hassle for a thermometer.
