    It does exactly what it says. I have used it in a smoker where I smoke meat for 6 hours up to a day..... It doesn't have absolute accuracy, but it shows you if the temperature is dropping or not, which is incredibly convenient. I recommend it even for professionals... if you want absolute accuracy, you should get an oven thermometer anyway. So, I believe that for its price, it does an excellent job!
