Important information
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can
report it here.
+The remote control is Bluetooth, so you don't need to aim it to change channels or select something. It can be used from another room as well. It takes 2 AAA batteries.
+It includes a 5-point HDMI extension in the package in case you have full ports on your TV or if you have it mounted and it doesn't fit. This can be solved with the extension.
+The remote control has a microphone and voice search capability with Google Assistant.
+The voice search works fine in Greek and English.
+It has 5.5GB of available storage.
+The RAM is good for Netflix, YouTube, and similar apps. It is also okay for small and simple games. However, for demanding games from the Play Store, they run but may have some lagging issues.
+You can connect any Bluetooth headphones and watch with them. It also connects to Xbox, PS4, and other controllers with Bluetooth.
+It includes a cable and a power adapter.
+There is the option to power it directly from the TV's USB port. However, be cautious because if the USB port provides less power, the device may restart frequently. This means that your TV cannot power it properly, so you will need to connect it to a power outlet using the adapter. If your TV's USB port provides 1A, it will work fine. If it provides less (mine provides 0.5A), you will need a power outlet.
+You can install the Smart YouTube TV app, which is essentially YouTube without ads and without paying for premium. It is like the Vanced app for mobile phones. You just need to download an app called Downloader from the Play Store, which will allow you to search and download Aptoide TV. Aptoide TV is a store similar to Google's, but it contains the Smart YouTube TV app. (Obviously, Google would never include this app in its own Play Store because everyone would download it and no one would pay for a YouTube subscription).
+It also works fine with Popcorn Time through the "official" site using the downloader.
+Red Bull TV app with great extreme sports content, including motorsports, cycling, rally, and more.
+Twitch
+Ertflix, which is good, but the latest update of the ERT app prevents videos from starting. So we are waiting for an update from ERT.
+Built-in Chromecast. This means you can screen mirror your mobile phone and choose videos from YouTube, Netflix, Google Photos, and any other app that has cast streaming on your phone. By tapping on the square icon (the cast icon) on your phone, you can project it on the TV.
The maximum resolution is 1080p.
For 4K, look for the Mi Box.
Batteries for the remote control are not included.
It tends to get a little warm, but I don't think it's a problem since even a Chromecast 2 that I had before also got warm.
I have been running it for 3 days for cosmote tv and it is connected to the socket. I am using the application from the playstore. It works for 10-15 minutes and then restarts, I am very dissatisfied. Also, it has poor connectivity even though it shows that it is connected to the internet. When I open youtube, it tells me that I am not connected.
I have had it for 2 years, it works perfectly without any problems at all. It is fast and has never interrupted me. I have all the streaming platforms on it as well as some other applications.
Easy to install, uninterrupted operation.
Supports COSMOTE TV and works perfectly.
Supports all TVs and offers to duplicate the remote from Samsung, LG, TCL, Hisense, Philips TVs (tested on all).
While it is a cheap solution, it is slow, frequently disconnects on 2.4 or 5ghz, and mine is no longer functional after 6 months.. it does not respond to the remote even after a reset.. I do not recommend it
It is very practical, plays everything, and is easy to transport. Today I am buying another one. It does have its little issues. It loses the wifi connection at regular intervals, but it comes back in a short time (the router is three meters away without obstacles). If you have it and the controller disconnects regularly, do a factory reset. Since I did that, it hasn't disconnected again.
Overall, it's fine. It takes quite a while. The issue was slightly fixed by connecting it directly to the wall outlet instead of a USB port on the TV for power. For YouTube and Netflix, it's good, not for anything more.
The worst thing you can buy! Anyone who has a different opinion can message me to get my own for free, and if they haven't thrown it against the wall in an hour, don't call me Giannis!
Continuous WiFi disconnections and inability to reconnect with the message "wrong password". Sometimes it works if you unplug it for a while, sometimes it works after 5 minutes, no one knows! Of course, there are also the freezes where you type something and because it freezes/heats up, it skips 5 letters or presses the same letter 3 times, but let's say that's not a big deal. Overall, for 40 euros, it definitely isn't worth it. If I want to watch a movie and have to hope the WiFi connects, I might as well not bother at all. I already had the Chromecast, which for 30 euros more, I didn't have to deal with again.
It is simply and beautifully an incredible product although I am making a very brief review. The reason for purchase for those who know was the use of a specific application where you can stream the screen of your computer to the respective stick. I connected my gamepad and managed to play games without any problem. As for its durability, it will show over time. Happy shopping!
Good for watching YouTube, Netflix, Kodi, etc. No complaints from me. The remote control does not disconnect. I completely disagree with those who say it's not worth the money, even though it has its drawbacks (it doesn't have USB, it heats up easily) but it doesn't bother me at all. Those who gave 1 star can just cry
At first it worked a little, after a month it freezes incredibly and restarts, generally a wrong purchase, I got it because I had a different opinion about Xiaomi
We used it for a week and it broke. The decoder does not turn on. We checked everything and changed the batteries and it still does not activate. Don't buy it, it is not recommended.
While it is supposed to be a more recent model, unfortunately, it is not compatible with the Vodafone TV app, which was the main reason I bought it. Otherwise, it works normally
I didn't expect such terrible quality from Xiaomi, its wifi is really bad, you have to keep it 20cm away from the router, beyond 20cm it starts to lag, it's also slow and the remote control has connectivity issues. I really bought it without seeing reviews because it's Xiaomi, BUT now I have no trust in Xiaomi anymore
I put it in a slightly older LG television and it "brought the TV to life"! Easy to use and handle, and it plays FULL HD (or 4K if you get this model). The 4 stars are given because although it is very good and stable, I notice that sometimes it freezes and glitches a bit, most likely it will be fixed with some update.
It constantly has small "lags" in image and sound.
Even with the router 2 meters away, watching a movie becomes annoying due to the stutters.
With the smart TV, I have no issues..... so it's not a slow internet problem.
This particular stick is a remarkable choice for those seeking an affordable yet reliable solution. For its price, it truly delivers on its promises. The connection to the TV was extremely easy, without any problems or unnecessary procedures. Since I started using it, I haven't faced difficulties either with its operation or its temperature. Even after considerable use, I didn't notice any overheating or any other technical issues.
Personally, it has made things particularly easier for me, and I believe it was a very good purchase for its price. If someone is looking for an affordable and functional solution, I highly recommend it. However, don't expect high speeds...
Minimal use but most of the time problematic. It freezes quite a bit, delays, disconnects from the remote control until now it has completely given up as it lights up but does not respond to anything. Never again.
Overall, it does its job well. However, sometimes it seems to overheat (especially with this heat, okay, it's not completely unreasonable) and the image flickers. One downside I find is the need for a power supply, but okay, it balances out with its price. I would describe it as value for money.
I would agree with all the negative reviews but... I changed the power supply and it's unrecognizable. Yes, it does raise the temperature but it doesn't freeze or restart. Just use a new generation mobile charger and the freezing issues are gone.
The remote control disconnects constantly for no reason, it lags a lot even just to exit YouTube and go somewhere else, it lags for no reason, it's a piece of garbage and a half, it also heats up a lot after literally 5 minutes of use with no apps open.. I'm really very disappointed! Don't buy it, spend another €20 and get the XIAOMI TV BOX. And now it has disconnected for good, I put brand new batteries from the box and nothing
The worst garbage I have ever bought in my life! Useless in all its functions, youtube, netflix, amazon prime, Disney, and Chromecast! It freezes, breaks frames, buffers with a 200mbps connection and overall, luxury garbage!
To top it off, the remote control disconnects for no apparent reason and does not work at random intervals from the device.
Never, ever again Chinese.
I have bought a total of 3. Two for myself and one for a friend of mine. I installed all of them. Unfortunately, the 2 that I have have the following problem: they randomly reboot and then the Bluetooth remote disconnects from the mi stick. This happens about once a month. So, the remote doesn't work. To overcome this issue and reconnect it, I have to do various tricks such as continuously rebooting by unplugging the power and waiting for about 15 minutes. Sometimes it works on the first try, other times it doesn't, and I have to reboot again and wait for 15 minutes. Of course, I can use my mobile phone as a virtual remote control through apps like Google Home.
My friend has never experienced this problem, which surprises me.
Other than that, it works perfectly. I have turned my 20-year-old Samsung TV into an Android TV.
Edit SOS after 2 years:
I read a tip in a review for the mi box s about the issue with the remote control sometimes becoming inactive. I tried it on both of my devices and it worked on one! So, the solution is as follows: Change the language from Greek to English US and the above-mentioned problem with the remote control is solved!!
After this tip, I give it 5 stars!
It was placed on a second TV for a room that was not smart. Fast connection, no glitches. Good quality of image and sound. Fast system updates to keep it running smoothly. The only drawback I faced was that when I tried to use it with the HDMI extension provided by the company in the device's packaging, it caused glitches. While when there was a direct connection without the extension, it worked fine!
I proceeded to purchase it 2 years ago so that the little one could watch Youtube and Disney+ mainly in a room with a non-smart TV. Also, it was a good idea to take it on vacation for the same reason.
After 4-5 months of use, and with the continuous software updates, I believe that the 1GB capacity is not enough. The temperature it rises as well as the lags due to this and the capacity, affected almost 90% of the UI (menu, navigation) to an annoying degree. Also, it does not offer any other way of use in case you lose or forget the remote control (e.g. universal control or via bluetooth).
Due to the above and for the money I still see it making, I might not easily recommend it.
It needs to be literally next to the router to work properly, it has frozen a couple of times, however it has great screen quality and variety of applications
