They do not have wide peripheral lighting. They shine and you can see them only if you are directly in front of them. But for their price, they're just fine

It illuminates well,
it does not have the ability for slight tilt/rotation (so you need to be careful where you install it in order to light correctly - the front),
the point where it attaches to the base is quite weak, resulting in it breaking on the first drop by the child.
