It does its job, but the plates are of very poor quality and do not clean easily.
Nothing special, for a toast twice a week or for reheating a piece of pie it's okay. The latch broke in the first six months, the toasting is of course not uniform. I've had it for 4 years, the plates haven't peeled. Okay.
Truly one of the best sandwich makers I have purchased, excellent construction, very easy to clean (even with just a piece of paper if you want) due to the plates, and it toasts sandwiches wonderfully. You just have to wait for the orange light to turn off and the green light to turn on, and then it depends on you how toasted you want the sandwich or anything else to be
I have it for about two years, the plates are not of good quality, I have the beige one and they have turned black, they do not clean well, I only cook with oil spray now. It also takes a long time to heat up and it grabs the bread while the cheese inside is still uncooked. Then it takes half an hour to cool down. As you can understand, I am looking for another one
It seems to be of good quality, but the bread gets toasted faster and the cheese doesn't have enough time to melt in the sandwich.
By putting aluminum foil it doesn't get dirty. Do not put the plates in the dishwasher. The coating comes off and sticks. Hand wash only.
I have had it for almost 6 years, it grills like the first day, and if you consider that it can fit even a baguette, it is definitely worth it, it is what we call VFM.
Nice crispy toast, fast and convenient even for XXL slices. Definitely worth its money.. I recommend it!
After a while, I found a toaster that reminds me of the smell of toast from a cafeteria. It's great.
Recent purchase 3/4/23:
I strictly follow the preheating instructions, etc., but it burns the toast around the edges very quickly. The cheese inside doesn't have time to melt.
We have already made 2 bags of toast trying to find a trick for even cooking.
I wonder, didn't the manufacturers identify the problem? Shouldn't the consumer be struggling to find a way to make the device they just bought functional?
October 2024:
Having now used the toaster for 1.5 years, the following has been established:
- Even cooking improves over time, but not miracles
- Do not use brioche toast bread; it will burn no matter what you do
- The latch broke within the first month and can no longer be stored vertically.
- The cord is quite short and is a hassle
Its overall performance is generally mediocre, and we haven't enjoyed it like other buyers.
Most likely, there is a difference from piece to piece due to the heating elements.
Acceptable toaster. Burns the toast in a second. Burnt on the outside, raw on the inside. Temperature cannot be adjusted. The worst purchase I have made.
Everything is good and nice in terms of cooking quality and construction, but the plates or the back side with the resistors produce an endless blackness no matter what you do from the first wash. 1 star because the issue with the plates is very serious. I hope the company fixes it in the future.
A small observation in case your sandwiches come out burnt before the cheese melts, you put them in without preheating, contrary to what the instructions say. I started doing this after a few attempts and it's the solution. It is very powerful at 1200W and because it doesn't have a temperature control, like the ones that cost twice as much, it can happen.
Purchase date 13/4/2022. Used for almost 9 months, almost daily.
At first, it was relatively good, although it initially toasted the bread on the outside without melting the cheese satisfactorily. I would put the toast according to the instructions after the green light turned on.
After about 2-3 months, following the same process, it started to "burn" the toast faster on the outside, until at one point the top heating element stopped working and the bottom one burned more than before, resulting in the toast being done on one side within 1-2 minutes.
Although it is not expensive, I feel like I wasted my money because it is no longer usable.
I don't have time to deal with replacements, heating elements, etc...
Very powerful, toasts bread nicely but not necessarily other "buns" (e.g. burger buns or brioches) or thick sandwiches (it doesn't toast them particularly in the middle). It's worth it for its price for toasts, pitas, or other thin foods.
It bakes evenly and quickly. It is a bit bulky for storage, if someone has limited space.
Finally, a toaster that is worth its money. To avoid burning the toast, we put it in after the green light turns on and not earlier.
It burned out the central resistor within 2.5 years with minimal use, so it's going to be thrown away... Also, the plates are very difficult to clean and the blackness doesn't come off with almost anything..
After 4 years of not so frequent use, it doesn't make contact anywhere and doesn't work. I have to look for service or a new one from another company. Overall, I do not recommend it.
Being influenced by the positive reviews I read, I also bought this toaster.
My opinion after 1.5 months of use:
1) It has a large gap between the plates, resulting in the toast not being pressed and the bread being toasted slowly.
2) It toasts unevenly.
3) It will burn the bread around it before the cheese melts.
The photo I am attaching is after 8-9 minutes of toasting.
Worst experience.. the first sandwich maker I received would trip the circuit breaker in the house within 20 seconds, no matter which outlet I plugged it into. Obviously, they replaced it for me. The second one I received burns the bread on the outside and doesn't melt the cheese. Obviously, after 10 years with a KENWOOD sandwich maker (which simply gave up, and understandably so...), I tried something different and lost 40€
It requires a little attention because the plates burn easily and it is easy to burn the toast on the outside before the cheese inside even starts to melt.
Perhaps the best toaster I have ever purchased.
The plates have some distance between them and do not compress the toast, making it flat. However, what I like most is that it quickly toasts the bread, resulting in the cheese not having enough time to run onto the plates, melting just enough as needed. It is worth its money.
Its only drawback is that it does not have a switch and needs to be unplugged every time. Another solution would be to connect it to a power strip with a separate switch for each socket.
You should be careful to put the toast after the green light turns on. If you put it earlier, the toast will burn.
After 2 years of use, the plates have worn out from washing and have lost their non-stick ability, resulting in them being dirty all the time.
Nevertheless, since I couldn't find replacement plates to buy, I will buy the same toaster again because I have been very satisfied with it, and considering the price it has today, knowing how well and quickly it toasts the bread, I don't want to mess with experiments :)
Update: I bought the plates from a store with spare parts for electrical appliances, in black color that comes in a set with the other exterior color of the toaster, they fit perfectly. Besides the color, there was no difference.
We continue to toast sandwiches :)
One of the best sandwich makers I have bought, if not the best. It makes the sandwiches crispy, toasted, and evenly baked. As for its construction, it is very good and worth its money.
Very good and fast grilling with perfect non-stick plates. After four toasters, I have ended up here.
I have been very satisfied. It toasts the sandwiches evenly as long as you wait for the indicator light to turn green as the instructions say, and then you put the sandwich in. If you put it in earlier, the bread will burn on the outside and the cheese won't melt inside. It's worth its money. I've had it for a year and it hasn't had any issues.
It toasts the sandwiches very nicely, melts the cheese without burning the bread, very important it doesn't flatten the sandwich like some other sandwich makers, the plates are easy to clean, it is a very good sandwich maker for its price.
It does its job, but it is a product of very poor quality. In the first six months of use, the screws that hold the resistors faded. The plates are not what we call non-stick.
