The main advantage of the M. Zuiko 14-42mm EZ lens is its portability. You can capture a wide range of images – from wide-angle landscapes to portraits and architecture – without carrying multiple lenses. It is an excellent lens for travel. A compact camera like the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II combined with the 14-42mm EZ is small enough to fit in your pocket, so you are always ready for the next photo.
One of the most interesting features of this lens is the Movie & Still Compatible, or MSC, mechanism, which is unique to Olympus. This technology offers incredibly fast and nearly silent autofocus operation. You will really notice the benefits when you play back your HD video and the only sound you hear is the ambient noise in the scene you recorded, without hearing the sound of the lens moving as it focuses.
With ten individual lens elements in nine groups, metal construction, and a weight of just 10.7 oz, this lens is a truly advanced piece of engineering. Among these elements are three ED, or extra-low dispersion, elements that correct chromatic aberrations, and two HR, or high refractive, elements that correct spherical aberrations. All lens elements feature Olympus's ZERO technology for near-complete elimination of ghosting and flare effects.

I got it at a discounted price in a demo version since I was attracted by the size. I made a mistake as a beginner and I still regret spending the 250 euros. Very poor and cheap construction. It feels like a plastic children's toy without any coating, with the incredible price of 400 euros for something so cheap in terms of quality. It breaks very easily. Needless to say, it broke on the first light impact. Only for "tourists" of photography. 100% no!
The only thing that did not satisfy me about the lens was the landscape photography. When it had to focus a bit further, I was not satisfied with its sharpness. It was not a focusing issue, I tried different apertures, but I was generally not satisfied. What can I say, maybe it was also the copy that I had.
Other than that, it is very good. Very good for close-ups and everyday use for family photos. Small in size, ideal for Olympus's small series, good build quality - better than the 40-150 f/4-5.6 R that I have, it also has a metal mount.
Ideal small lens kit for PEN.
Its optical performance is equivalent to the traditional 14-42, but this version has Pancake dimensions.
For anyone who wants the most pocketable zoom package with the PEN, it is a very good choice
The lens failed after 2 months of minimal use (the known extension/retraction issue), just like a lens of a friend of mine who had bought it second-hand (in his case, out of warranty) and repairing it is considered pointless. Avoid it, as well as any kits that include it.
Update: 10/23
The lens has again lost its focus in both auto and manual mode. It is practically useless.
