At the end of 2018, I bought the X-T3 along with the XF23mmF2. Their job would be to accompany me on family outings in the countryside and in the city. At a wedding that took place in February of the following year, I decided to bring the "small" ones with me, to try them out at some point during the dances. After having done my job with the Full Frame cameras, it would be safe to "play" a little with the "small" ones. After a week, I sold the Nikon D610 and the Nikkor 24-70mmF2.8 and bought a second X-T3, the XF50mmF2, and the XF80mmF2.8. It is now April 2021 and after a lot of work, the XF23mmF2 is my favorite lens. The quality of the photos, if I can say such a thing, depends solely on how well we know the photo editing program we use. And just so no one thinks I'm advertising Fujifilm, I'll say that I will never sell my D850 and the Nikkor 70-200mmF2.8.

Excellent ... in almost everything! Ideal size, amazing build quality. As for the image quality it provides as a prime lens, it does everything that all primes usually do and more. Beautiful colors, very nice contrast, fast AF, and it performs exceptionally well. Wherever you read, you will only hear good things, with a small flaw that for some will be a deal breaker... This has to do with the very soft results it gives at f2 aperture and when focusing at the minimum focus distance. For some strange reason, the results here are really bad. This only happens when focusing at the minimum focus distance with f2, as in other conditions, f2 gives excellent results. Personally, in order to see very good results at the minimum focus distance, I had to set the aperture to f5.6 and above. It has nothing to do with poor copy, as if you search a bit on the internet, you will see that it is a common issue. Nevertheless, I still consider it a must-have lens for Fujifilm X owners, as I find that the 23mm (35mm in FF) is ideal for all types of photography (except macro in this case), and it is a lens that once you attach it to the camera, you will hardly remove it. *4 stars only for the issue mentioned above with f2 & minimum focus distance..

I have been using this lens for a year now, alongside the kit XC 16-50 f3.5-5.6, on the Fujifilm XT10. It is quite small and lightweight, which is very convenient. The autofocus is fast and silent, to the point where you can barely feel the rotors turning inside the lens during focusing. The aperture ring has an excellent feel to it, and you can feel the change in f-stop with the click of the ring.
It has very good sharpness, especially compared to the kit lens, even at the edges of the frame (I think somewhere after f5). In the center, the sharpness is exceptional even at wide apertures (f2-f2.8). I haven't noticed any distortion at the edges of the frame, which I find very important. With the kit lens, for example, I had to correct distortion in almost every photo during post-processing.
Personally, the only thing I miss is the image stabilization that the kit lens had. Any photo I take without a tripod at a shutter speed slower than 1/25 comes out slightly shaky. But you can work around this by using higher ISO or a wider aperture.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase. It is almost always attached to my camera now!
