Small, lightweight, and smart full-frame mirrorless camera for exceptional creativity on the go.
The 26.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor of the Canon EOS RP performs exceptionally well in low light conditions thanks to the DIGIC 8 processor and the built-in DLO technology, ensuring excellent results straight from the camera.
The Canon EOS RP is a practical mirrorless camera with incredible creative capabilities thanks to next-generation RF lenses. The large diameter, high-speed communication, and short back focus distance of the RF mount are the ideal starting point for your future full-frame system.
The Canon EOS RP offers a new way to take advantage of full-frame shooting benefits. Capture photos with the exclusive range of full-frame RF lenses, as well as the extensive range of EF and EF-S lenses that you can connect via an adapter, maintaining the same optical performance.
An EOS-style comfortable grip, combined with the high-resolution vari-angle touchscreen and the OLED electronic viewfinder, ensures next-generation handling in a lightweight 485-gram body.
The Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology ensures an expanded AF area, the world's fastest AF speed2 at just 0.05 seconds for 4,779 selectable AF positions, as well as low-light AF, at -5 EV3. Eye AF keeps your portraits sharp, while focus peaking provides maximum depth of field across the entire image.
From using Silent Mode to remotely controlling the camera via Wi-Fi. Capture all the action at speeds of up to 5fps, edit photos within your camera, and share them through the Canon Camera Connect app.

First time with full frame. I got it on sale and combined it with another kit with the RF 24-105 f4 L lens and RF 50 1.8. Amazing image quality. I had a Canon 500D. The difference is huge, even though I'm an amateur. The battery doesn't last very long, so I got a second one. The camera is very lightweight like a compact. On many outings, I go with the 50mm and I don't feel any weight at all.
I mainly bought it for its weight and of course the fact that it is full frame. I have used it in various fields and overall I have been completely satisfied. It's not the fastest "gun" out there, but no one would buy it for that reason anyway. At high ISOs, it performs normally for its specifications. Definitely, it wouldn't be someone's choice for sports, but the camera is fantastic and gives you what you pay for. Clearly, a set of 3-4 batteries is absolutely necessary. It works perfectly with the adapter for EF lenses, although the RF lenses are on another level. Compared to Nikon, for an all-around tool, you clearly choose the Nikon Z5. However, in my opinion, in terms of weight, it is the ultimate travel kit for full frame so far.
Coming from the Canon EOS 5D Mark III, the most significant difference is in the weight. Since I was used to the optical viewfinder, I need some time to get used to it. Although it is a full-frame, it is incredibly lightweight, making me feel like I'm holding a compact camera.
I bought this camera on 03/06/2021. I have the genuine adapter because I have the Canon EF 17-40 f/4, Canon EF 24-105 f/4, Canon EF 70-200 f/4 lenses. I am completely satisfied with the camera, based on the money I spent. I have only taken photos so far. Negative points I find are its battery, so I bought a second battery, and its small size, so I also bought a battery grip, and now I can say that it is comfortable to hold. With the two batteries, it lasts for 840 photos. I have the Canon EOS 6D Mark II as my camera and I was shooting at the three mysteries I went to with both cameras. The difference between them is huge, to be precise, chaotic. The EOS RP is definitely superior. I have only taken five videos and I was amazed, of course. I am a professional photographer and cinematographer. So far, I have been shooting videos with the Sony HXR-NX100 1-inch and I bought this one to continue with mirrorless. I highly recommend it.
I bought the Canon EOS RP at a very good price abroad, brand new with the kit lens. I had heard many bad things about this camera, but no, it doesn't have many flaws. However, for its price and construction, it is simply very good. Very good weight, very small size for traveling, simply incredible for a full-frame camera of its size. Personally, with the introduction of the Nikon Z5 and its build quality, and at a similar price abroad, I would now buy the Nikon Z5. But still, the weight and compactness keep me using this one when I go out for a walk and don't want to have something heavy in equipment. The cons I find are that in low light and at high ISO values, the photos come out with noise, but not to the point where it is catastrophic in raw files. The JPEG files are simply amazing...! The video functions are just there to have some quality, like the M50. But still, its size and weight make you love using it.
Great attention from where you will buy the machine. Make sure it collaborates with the dealership and is an authorized reseller. I bought the machine from here, and I ended up with a machine that broke in less than 3 months. The store imports, and for repair, it needs to be sent back to the country from which it was imported. The official dealership does not recognize the warranty. For a repair that would normally take up to 10 days, I have to wait up to 2 months, and still, I won't be sure who repaired my machine.
Excellent machine and price, for Full Frame. Solid body. Quality construction and its buttons inspire confidence. Because I come from Nikon, I haven't gotten used to the menu yet, but I believe it's a matter of a few days. The quality of the shots is excellent, with deep colors that don't fade, throughout the frame. I will come back with more comments when I work with it more and in various conditions...
A highly commendable machine that is relatively easy to use if you are familiar with Canon. The only downside is that the battery drains quickly when using the electronics, so you will definitely need a second or even third battery. The previous lenses I have function perfectly.
