The instructions say 1-3 centimeters distance... of course, it gives a different measurement at 1 centimeter distance, another at 3... however, it has approximately a 0.2 deviation from mercury thermometers... it could be more economical

In case of doubt with the digital ones, I do a double check with my old, traditional, and only 100% reliable mercury one. This one has been working fine so far.

Good and relatively expensive.
As others have mentioned, you need to find the right distance to measure something accurately, which can be a bit of a hassle.

Edit. It is only suitable for temperature indication when you are in a hurry. It does not replace the classic one.

If you find the right measuring distance (3-5 centimeters), it is accurate. It shows much better quality than other similar ones.
