The potatoes turned out amazing (fresh), but not the zucchinis.
I made an apple pie and it turned out incredible.
A little practice with temperatures is needed. For example, cakes should not exceed 150-160 degrees. Very useful device, especially for people who live alone. You almost eliminate the need for an oven.
Let's say things as they are! It has a strong plastic smell!!!! I hope it goes away with time. To make good potatoes, you need to add at least two tablespoons of oil because with one they become like boiled! To make the food good, it needs to be cooked for +15 minutes more than what it says. And I'm saying few... And you need to constantly stir the food! The device is good for people who want to lose weight, I don't recommend it for cooking for guests who come to your house.
From the first month, it had a problem with closing the bin. You had to try a little for it to work. 1 year later, with minimal use, it stopped working.
It makes all meats juicy and crispy. Nice grilled vegetables. It cooks cheese pies and of course chicken nuggets, sausages, and meatballs very nicely. As for fried potatoes, if you want nice potatoes like fried ones, get an air fryer with a stirrer (I had the Tefal one for 250 euros. Okay. The potatoes were simply perfect.) For everything else, they don't turn out particularly good. You have to put in a few and constantly stir them. After a year of use, I simply can't part with it. I bought a second one for my daughter. It comfortably fits two chicken thighs or three neck steaks. I use it every day!!!
Well, the burgers are made perfectly and very quickly, around 15 minutes, juicy and crispy. For the potatoes I tried, a small quantity (2 potatoes) should be added in order to cook them in about 20 minutes. So, it doesn't make sense to fill the basket because you will definitely take over an hour to cook them, with stirring of course! I also tried some pitakia, they were done very quickly compared to the oven and tasty, in 15 minutes. Generally, I wouldn't say it's for 3 people, but it's worth it to reduce the waiting time needed for the oven to heat up.
I can no longer live without this fryer/oven. Potatoes with just a spoonful of oil come out 90% like fried, and I now cook everything there very quickly and with excellent results. It has a top heating element and air circulation, resulting in everything cooking evenly and very quickly because you don't have to wait for the electric stove to heat up first. The tray has holes and all the fat goes to the bottom. I bought it a second time as a gift. I would like a larger one now for 4 people. This one can fit, for example, 3 medium-sized steaks.
Awesome purchase! Everything needs a good shake, of course. Compared to other potato peelers, I used it only twice and put a minimal amount of potatoes in the bin, just enough to cover the bottom.
The only downside is that something got stuck at some point and when closing the bin, the light didn't turn on to start the operation. I tried various ways to make the bin connect, you can imagine. In short, I hit it with force multiple times. It turned out to be a small piece of iron that straightened out easily with my hand. It didn't suffer any damage with all those hits, let's just say that! (Bought for 71€)
(In the photo, the trick to make it move forward when the handle got stuck)
I have had it for about a year. Value for money, normal.
You throw everything in, mix it occasionally, and eat good food with very little oil and a satisfying fried taste.
When frying different things together, I make sure to add the ingredients at the time I calculate they need to be cooked - for example, chicken in small pieces needs 15-20 minutes of cooking, so I put it in the basket 10-15 minutes after the potatoes, which take half an hour (depending on the quantity).
In general, with a little experimentation, marinating meat and mixing the ingredients, you achieve better results. But even if you don't want to bother too much, if you simply lightly oil your ingredients and throw them all in, the fryer will make good and healthy food.
I consider the 4.5 liters of the basket to be a satisfactory volume for food for two people, or even more. However, I recommend not getting an air fryer with a smaller basket, as it may be restrictive without much benefit in terms of price or the space it occupies on the kitchen counter. Also, if the basket has a large capacity, the food does not get "clogged" and cooks faster.
At certain times, I cooked only with the fryer for a while - meatballs, chicken, meat, sausages, chicken or fish croquettes, potatoes, zucchini, pumpkin... All with very little oil and disproportionately good taste.
I have it for several months but I am not satisfied with the cooking times. With half a basket full, the potatoes take about over 50 minutes at 200 degrees!
No comparison with the times given by the device.
Very good fryer!!! You can cook everything with a little oil or even none at all!!! Ideal for people who are on a diet and don't put oil in their diet!
Edit 01/25/2022
It works perfectly and I use it almost every day!
Very nice frying. The potatoes are crispy. It cleans very easily. I recommend this specific fryer. The only negative is the quality of its construction, which is not unacceptable, but it is not good either.
Obviously healthier than frying and quite tasty. I have only tried potatoes. However, it definitely requires more oil and considerably more time than suggested. The main disadvantage is that despite regular stirring and the additional cooking time, there is still inconsistency: some potatoes are very overcooked (due to the extra cooking time) and several remain slightly undercooked... Nevertheless, I can't say that I regret it because I have the feeling that cooking is healthier and also the kitchen remains cleaner and more organized, without the annoying splattering from frying.
For healthy cooking, it's just what you need! Indeed, you need to add a little oil to the potatoes to make them crispy, but they're not the same as fried ones... I have also baked pitas, satisfactory! It cleans easily!
Excellent except for potatoes, I cook fish liver, chicken fillet breast and thigh, beef fillet, burgers, meatballs, all perfectly delicious as if they were made on an electric grill. For all meats, I put it in for 20 minutes at 200 degrees and turn it over at 10 minutes. Because it cooks at a high temperature very quickly, it seals in the juices and makes them juicy. The fillets are so tasty that you can't even find them in the best restaurant. Cleaning is a breeze, I wash it every 2 days, so I have cooked about 4-5 times and the fats come off easily, it's like washing 2 dishes. It has a volume of 4.5 liters, in small pieces it can fit enough food for 2 to 3 people, I have put 4 large burgers or one and a half chicken fillet breasts, I don't know if the ones with 5.5 liters have a larger diameter or more depth where it wouldn't be convenient. The diameter of the drum is 22.5
Simply, the whole house smelled of burnt plastic within 10-15 minutes of operation. For the price, the kitchen smelled like plastic until I opened the trash can to mix the potatoes (like in all air fryers) and the whole house smelled. I had to take it out to the balcony because the atmosphere was suffocating and the air purifier was working in the red in another room!!!
1. French fries fried for 25 minutes at 180 degrees (with intermediate stirring at 10-15-20 minutes) for 2 people (light marinade with a little olive oil, oregano, salt, pepper, lemon, preferably 2 tablespoons of oil).
2. 2 steaks cooked for 45 minutes at 190 degrees with intermediate flipping (marinated beforehand).
3. Chicken fillets cooked for 35 minutes at 190 degrees with intermediate flipping (marinated beforehand).
4. Pizza in pita with sauce, 1 tablespoon of oil, mushrooms, peppers, feta cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon in pita, cooked for 6 minutes at 180 degrees.
So far, these are the instructions.
DO NOT OVERFILL THE BASKET even though it is very large for good air circulation
Very good, the only thing that lacks is that it does not have an electronic menu for accuracy in options. It fries evenly, it is fast and cleans easily.
I have it for a few days now and so far I have only made fried potatoes, which turned out really crispy in about 25 minutes at 180 degrees, just by opening it a little and stirring them slightly. I wonder why I didn't buy it sooner, I would have lowered my cholesterol years ago. No more frying and no need to buy cooking oil anymore. The taste of the potatoes is fantastic. Of course, the variety of potatoes matters when frying, and I always buy the Agria variety, which is suitable for frying. One of the best purchases I have made recently. I have also made burgers with potatoes, chicken with potatoes, and cod with potatoes, cutting the potatoes into small cubes and removing the protective bottom in the basket, then adding oil and a little water. The burgers take about 45 minutes and the chicken takes almost an hour (when cut into portions). The amazing thing is that it cleans easily with absorbent kitchen paper, which is really convenient!
Update 070222
The basket has become sensitive, so when you pull it out to check the food, it takes a lot of hits inside and outside to get it moving again, and I'm afraid it will break soon... This is because there is a rubber switch at the back, which is pressed when the basket is inserted, causing the machine to start functioning.
Update 03/2023
The rubber protrusion that activates the fryer eventually broke, causing it to stop working. What I did was to fix it with a makeshift solution so that the fryer still works even when you take out the basket to check the food (assuming that the timer is on and working). It continues to work normally, it just doesn't stop when you pull out the basket.
It really makes delicious french fries, you can't tell the difference. Overall, it is a high-quality product that allows you to quickly make good food. Very good in terms of construction and the capacity of the basket is also very good for 2-3 people. Definitely worth it!
It is very good, I am satisfied. It makes healthy potatoes without oil, chicken nuggets, fish croquettes, cheese pies with a satisfactory size of the basket compared to others that are much smaller. I recommend it!
When they told me that I can fry without oil, I laughed at first. I bought it out of curiosity since I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I considered impossible. Now I only cook with it. Within 15 minutes, I have cooked meat with potatoes. Of course, you need to open it and stir the food a little to distribute the air evenly. I cook for one person and it's borderline. If you decide to buy an air fryer, see how big the basket is. This one is very good and for its price, the basket is non-stick and literally cleans with a piece of paper. I have had it for about 4 months and I am completely satisfied
For the potatoes, I would like to say that if you spend a little time and mix them occasionally, they turn out like fried ones. It's worth its money and its quality is good!
