  I bought 2 with a few months difference because the first one was very good and convenient. Unfortunately, the second one broke within the first 6 months. It seems to be receiving power but it doesn't read SD cards or a mouse on the USB.
  On the other hand, the first one I bought is working perfectly for over a year now on both computers. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but it broke quite late for me to return it, too early considering its cost.

  Excellent performance. I have had it for 8 months and I am very satisfied. The connection never cuts off like with other adapters. WARNING! If you have a case on your MacBook, there is a high chance that you will need to remove the bottom part, like me, in order to plug it in because it doesn't fit otherwise. This might be the one negative aspect of the adapter.

  I have it for about 5 months, I use it at work and at home (meaning I carry it around) and it works perfectly. It has never caused me any issues even though I have only used the USB-3 ports, the Ethernet port, and the HDMI (I don't know if the other ones work properly). It is expensive but I think it's worth it.

  The main reason I bought it was the HDMI and additional connection ports.
  I use it with a MacBook Pro 2017 and MacBook Pro 2016 and connect an external monitor and (usually) the Apple Magic Trackpad on top.
  I use it for 1.5-2 hours continuously for live streaming on YouTube. It has not presented any connectivity issues.
  Once, for experimentation, I tried to cover all the ports, something I don't do in everyday life. What it does is either ignore one or two devices or suddenly disconnect and reconnect all of them. I suspect it has to do with the power they all draw together. However, I assume this scenario is not something that would happen to me anyway.
  I prefer to share the load with the "Sharkoon 3-Port USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter Type C," which is much cheaper.
  One good thing about the Satechi is its power passthrough. That is, you can connect the MacBook and at the same time it gives you a type C port to charge it and a thunderbolt port. For me, it's not such an issue because I have the 15". But for those who have the 13" without touch bar with 2 USB C ports, it is an issue.
