We used it for shading in a bathroom window. It does the job for this purpose, without darkening the space too much. Assembly is easy as long as the instructions are followed. It just seems vulnerable to winter weather conditions. I'm afraid it might break during severe weather. After installing it, I noticed that a neighbor has a similar, larger one and a piece has come off. So, I wouldn't recommend it for areas of the house that are exposed to extreme weather conditions (snow, strong winds, etc.). I hope ours will withstand because it is in a somewhat protected spot, otherwise I will update my review. Anyway, it is beautiful and the price is very good. UPDATE: It survived the winter just fine, for now it is holding up so I added a star. Only time will tell how long it will last

Beautiful product. Easy to install and assemble. However, the plastic bases broke due to the weight of the snow. I bought it again to replace the broken one from last year. It was installed in N. Erythraia, not on a mountain.
