Description

In the Dusty, developed desert areas of the western mudos, the threatening city dwellers find their settlements besieged by outlaw fighters. Also comes the Stranger, a tall, dark, and enigmatic bounty hunter with a mission to capture troublemakers and criminals and return them to civilized towns for imprisonment.

The Stranger holds a secret and needs precise surgery to survive. In his attempt to earn enough moolah, the stranger reluctantly accepts the ultimate bounty from the owner of the Mongo River and suddenly his adventure takes a very different turn.

Launch critters at your enemies. Distract them with chippunks, trap them in bolamite webs, or destroy them with stingbees and explosive bats. Accept missions from the bounty store and talk to neurotic townsfolk to find out where your bounty might be.

The classic game from 2005, with a new costume and on a new platform. Essentially, it is the same game that we played on Xbox, PC, and PS3, now available on the Nintendo Switch - in physical form, something that has not happened since its initial release.

At the center of it all is the story of the famous Stranger, a mysterious bounty hunter who is not afraid to take on any contract that comes his way because he needs the money for something very, very special. An interesting story, especially if you are experiencing it for the first time. It lasts around 10 hours and does not have multiplayer or much value for a second playthrough (no secrets, etc.). If you play it again, it will purely be to relive the events.

In terms of gameplay, it combines two genres: one part is three-dimensional third-person action platforming, and one part is first-person shooter. At any given moment, you switch between the two perspectives for the needs of the moment. The Stranger has various live (literally) ammunition for the crossbow he carries, which can bite, trap, or hunt down enemies, and so on. Although it may sound chaotic, the action flows smoothly and the basic gameplay mechanics are quite user-friendly, to the point where you will instinctively make moves even if you haven't fully understood what they mean.

Visually and acoustically, it resembles a classic western, but with aliens and monsters. It has a distinctive design that stays in your mind, clever humor that is also suitable for all ages, and a dose of challenge that keeps you entertained without getting tired. For those familiar with the Oddworld series, particularly Abe's Oddysee and Exodus, there is a lot to love as it takes place in the same universe but in a completely different location with different characters.

Its graphics and the "rawness" in some of its mechanics betray the fact that it is an HD remaster of a 15-year-old game, but don't let that stop you from giving it a chance. At the very least, you will have a pleasant weekend in an unforgettable world with fantastic characters, plot, design, music, and unique gameplay.
