It's not completely silent, but if you're watching a movie or listening to music and it's on the first speed, you don't really hear it. I think it was a good purchase.

I don't know what requirements those who complained about noise had (and scared me), but it is a fan with very reasonable noise, we don't expect it to blow only and not be heard. Of course, as the speed increases, so does the noise, but it is not annoying or loud in any way. It seems to be of very good quality construction and the motor is perfectly balanced, it doesn't produce the slightest vibration even at the 3rd speed. I had it on glass and it didn't move at all. I haven't opened it but it seems to have bearings instead of bushings that other fans have. I recommend it for one person. The plus is that it is small in size and a branded product.
EDIT: Well, the fan is holding up well and this is the 3rd summer.
Because I opened it to clean it, I can tell you that it indeed has bearings on its motor shaft and not bushings. This means that it is very unlikely to get stuck, just make sure not to let it catch the bear's dust... huh?. Also, the fluff will heat up the motor more and you don't want that. Clean it once a year, it's not difficult at all.
Also, because I see comments that it makes noise, I will tell you that in these dimensions it is logical to make noise. If you want a quiet one, get a larger fan with a bigger blade, but then you go to a different price. It has a 35W motor when the big cheap ones have a 40W motor and are also of poor quality. It's for one summer...
So, very honest for its price, and a tip. If you remove the front cover, the noise will be reduced but the airflow will also improve. Of course, be careful with your fingers afterwards, and if you have small children and pets, forget it for safety reasons!
