Excellent! I have a 100mbps connection and with the PLC, speeds are consistently above 95 (98 in the screenshot). Some important notes:
- It should be connected directly to the wall outlet and not to a power strip
- After connecting to the wall outlet, you can connect a power strip
- It should be connected "upright" with the ethernet cable below and not upside down
- It's good to disable power saving mode because sometimes it disconnects
- You can turn off all the lights together or one by one
- You can download the tp link utility from here: https://www.tp-link.com/gr/support/download/tl-pa7017p-kit/
- And it requires admin rights to install and every time you open it.
- You can use the Kit without this utility. You only use it if you want to make minor adjustments.
Update 17/1/2025 (2.5 years of use): It started disconnecting on a daily basis, at least 2-3 times a day. Not only does it disconnect, but it also requires re-unpairing and pairing, meaning I have to set it up from scratch again. I’ve made the decision and instead of spending 50 euros on powerline, I will get a hammer drill to dig through the wall to run a spiral and inside it an ethernet cable to create my own socket. It costs twice as much since afterwards it needs plastering and painting the wall, but it is the only sure solution.
I chose this one because the TL-PA4010P Kit left me after almost 2 years of use. It wouldn’t sync with anything, after disconnecting one of the two from the socket where I had it, no matter what I did (pair, factory reset, same room, different computer, different house - yes, I tried that too), so I came here with a refund.
For two weeks, I used 20 meters of cat.6 Ethernet from the living room where the OTE router-modem is to my room, on the computer. As you can see in the upper part of the photo and then in the lower part, the loss is zero. There was a noticeable increase in ping, but I wouldn’t even call that a "problem" since I didn’t notice any issues in games. If you live in an old house (construction from the 50s-60s usually) and the electrical wiring hasn’t been changed at all from the panel to the actual power cables inside the wall, it’s very likely that it won’t work for you, or if it does, you’ll have terrible losses.
The ideal solution, as a friend who is an electrician and has a hobby of installing home networks told me verbatim, is: during a renovation, the owner should install UTP (cat.6e/cat 7) (https://www.skroutz.gr/s/10804368/Powertech-U-UTP-Cat-6e-Cable-100m-%CE%9C%CE%B1%CF%8D%CF%81%CE%BF-CAB-N061.html) inside the wall and bring out Ethernet ports (https://www.skroutz.gr/s/24031827/DeLock-%CE%94%CE%B9%CF%80%CE%BB%CE%AE-%CE%A0%CF%81%CE%AF%CE%B6%CE%B1-%CE%94%CE%B9%CE%BA%CF%84%CF%8D%CE%BF%CF%85-RJ45-%CE%BC%CE%B5-%CE%A0%CE%BB%CE%B1%CE%AF%CF%83%CE%B9%CE%BF-%CE%A4%CF%8D%CF%80%CE%BF%CF%85-Cat6-%CF%83%CE%B5-%CE%9B%CE%B5%CF%85%CE%BA%CF%8C-%CE%A7%CF%81%CF%8E%CE%BC%CE%B1-86195.html) throughout the house where needed, meaning bedroom, living room. The solution provided by powerline is something that often fails (not frequently over the years) and is not 100% reliable; for example, a lightning strike can easily burn them out. I mention this mainly for people who are considering renovating or are renovating a space and need a wired connection (working from home, online games, streaming, transferring large amounts of files, etc.). The above endeavor will cost you about as much as 2 or 3 powerline devices since it includes labor for installation, cable, and sockets. However, it won’t be affected by earthquakes, humidity, or anything. It lasts as long as your building does!
In summary, I recommend this one since it is a newer series of the most popular "grandmother," I would say, TL-PA4010P.
Update 29/8/2023: After 50 meters of Ethernet providing internet to a TP-LINK Archer AX73 v1, I now have the powerline bringing internet to the computer (20-25 meters of electrical wiring - 1 room next door). The speeds, as you can see in the photo, are now 93 down/10 up.
Update 24/5/2024: I’m removing one star because after upgrading to a 200/20 ftth line, the speed I’m getting is 90 download 20 upload. The motherboard port supports up to 1Gbp/s so this is definitely not the issue.
I bought it yesterday and as much as I used it, it's flawless. I am very far from my router, I use it for gaming especially. I have 100mbps download and 10mbps upload, and in my room without the powerline, I was getting about 20 download and 5 upload, and now I get 80 download and 10 upload. I am very satisfied, the internet is lightning fast. As for the connection, it was super easy; I didn't even need to pair it, it did it by itself and very quickly. I highly recommend it!
When I got it two years ago on a VDSL 100 line (Nova), it worked almost as if it was directly connected to the router at 100 speed with 1-2 ms ping, no problems at all. After a while, though, it started having some crazy drops of 10-20 Mbps with very high pings. I left it aside for a while, then when we left Nova, I connected it to Cosmote TV due to problematic Wi-Fi from the terrible router of Cosmote, and it worked without any interruptions. With Wi-Fi, there were constant interruptions; you couldn't watch a match. Now we have installed 300 optical fiber, I bought a router because the one from Cosmote was again terrible, and the new one they replaced for us is in a room far from the router, getting speeds of 80-200 Mbps download and 100-150 upload with good pings. I have it for playing NBA 2K because even with the new router I bought (which in all measurements gets 300+, 150+ without lag, latency, etc.), it still has some interruptions, while with the power line I have no issues; I play as if I were connected to the router with a cable. Of course, maybe the game has some issues because in any other game or internet usage, the Wi-Fi has the same stability and much better download speeds.
I have 200 Mbps, I lose about -50 so 150 is stable, the ping is perfect, the only negative is that I lose 50 download speed
Easy and quick solution for internet where there is an outlet. Even though it is theoretically gigabit, do not expect to see above 200mbit, and that under ideal conditions. (Point to point without devices that produce interference on the line.)
Good, it works immediately by pairing with another Tenda AV1000 powerline. Of course, I have to say that I bought this specific one because I had the same one for years, which suddenly went off, burned out, and no lights would turn on. I didn't look for a repair, I just got another one.
I have Fiber 200 and at best it reaches 70mbps. It has even managed to reach 20. It might be due to the electrical wiring of the house, but I know that the wires were changed no more than 15 years ago. It's a decent solution if you don't want to deal with cables, but that's about it, and it costs 50 euros.
After a year of having them, I can say that for their price they are amazing, not a single disconnection and after a power outage they synced faster than the router.
I achieve identical speeds with the wired ethernet (line ~ 100mbps download / ~ 10mbps upload). I use it to transfer internet to a switch that I have connected to a NAS and exposed to the outside world. I disabled the power saving mode (to avoid any delays) and changed the priority to "internet" (for some reason it was defaulted to "gaming") from the utility app that you download from the tp-link website. The electrical wiring is in a 95 apartment building.
WARNING: To check if you have the correct firmware and if an update is needed, compare your version with the European site of tplink and not the American one. If you search for the model on Google, it will take you to the American site where it seems there is a newer firmware version (2020), while on the European site the latest is from 2019. If for some reason you try to install the American version, there is a chance it could damage the device and void the warranty, so be careful.

I upgraded my line to 300Mbps Download/30Mbps Upload and it seems to reach a ceiling of 122mbps download, but the upload is easily covered. While with wifi 6 close to the router I normally get 300mbps. See the second screenshot, the positive thing is that I have lower delays than with the wifi connection from my mobile. For the job I need it for, it's enough for me, because I am more interested in the upload which is less than 100mbps and it covers that. Now if in the future I want to have more than 100 upload, I will necessarily have to pull a cable from the router. I am also flirting with the idea of a wifi6 repeater to transfer internet via wifi and from the repeater to ethernet. As an example, look for Gl.Inet Gl-Mt3000 which also gives you other goodies, such as wireguard vpn, adguard, etc.
it's definitely value for money but two "issues" I have noticed, first of all there is a drop at the Network speed, my internet connection is 100mbps and with power line and Ethernet cable the speed in my desktop peaks at 80+. Another issue is when there is a power cut I have to boot my PC for the power line to be paired again with it's peer. Again 5/5 stars if you ignore the minor issues above
I have fiber optic 200mbps and the router is in the hallway. I wanted a network on the computer I have in the room (10m away). I replaced Powerlines with a maximum LAN speed of 100mbps with these (1000mbps) and my speed increased from 70 to 130mbps. Personally, I am very satisfied. I will get back to you in case I have issues with disconnections, etc.
Functionally flawless, but I have huge loss at 15 meters distance where I use it. From 950mbps it drops sharply to 80mbps, although this may also be related to my own wiring.
They do not lose connection at speeds up to 100. Above that, there are significant losses. For example, at 300, which we have, it reaches a maximum of 220-225.
The product does what it says it does without any problems and is fully plug and play. It has been connected in a house with a single-phase panel to sockets that are on the same circuit at a cable distance of 20 meters. An apartment building from '85. On a 100 Mbps line, I have almost zero losses, as if I have plugged the PC directly into the router. As many have previously mentioned, an important factor is the wiring of the house.
If you want to get at best 1/4 of the speed for which you pay 2 rooms away and with fluctuations, then it is a good budget solution. At 200Mbps FTTH I get 50Mbps at best 2 rooms away. In contrast, with Devolo Magic 2 I get around 100. You get what you pay for, I guess.
Very easy installation, you simply plug the two devices into two nearby outlets, they connect, and then you can move them wherever you want in your home. One must be connected to an internet source (the modem-router). The other(s) can connect to anything with ethernet. So far, I haven't had any problems. In terms of speed, I have 50 and it reaches 100mbps. What? Anyway, it's not slow at all. If anything changes or a problem arises, I will update this review

They were installed at a client's office, where it was not possible to run UTP cable. They connected directly, without me having to do anything except plug them in, and they have been working flawlessly for almost a year now. Very satisfied, both I and the client.
I am very satisfied. The Mbps speed that comes to the phone jack where the router is located is the same as the jack in the room where I have the other part of the TP-LINK where my computer is.
Second in line that broke down, without any obvious reason, making random pairings and constant disconnections in an electrical installation where another powerline pair works perfectly. Both failures with exactly the same symptom. Service: After almost 1 month from the initial report of the failure, they inform me that it is being returned "without a fault being found".... Allow me to have an opinion on whether it has a fault or not, with 30 years of experience in the field of IT and telecommunications. Of course it has a fault, but OK, I lose 30 euros, my lesson is worth more, both for the product (TPLINK) and for the seller (SKROUTZ) and the store
Just disappointment...
On Fiber 300Mbps line, in nearby sockets, it reaches at most 140Mbps and not consistently.
If I move them a little further apart, it barely reaches 10-20Mbps or even no internet at all.
I got it as a replacement for the RE505X model I initially bought because it had disconnections every 10 minutes via Wifi.
And in the end, this one turned out to be even worse.
I used to appreciate TP-Link but not anymore.
3 years user of the product and I am very satisfied. In a 50 Mbps line, when I first installed it, it reached speeds of 49-50 Mbps. Since I upgraded to a 200 Mbps line last year, it consistently delivers speeds of 160-180 Mbps. There was one instance where it didn't provide internet connectivity even though the Wi-Fi was working, so I had to unplug it and restart it, but it worked fine afterwards. It's worth the money and more, especially compared to the hassle of running Ethernet cables and having them clutter the house, and trying to hide them. Many technicians have told me that powerline adapters either work well or suddenly stop working. So, keep that in mind when considering powerline adapters.
The negative review is related to the fact that the actual speed was much lower than the Maximum LAN Speed of 1000 Mbps mentioned in the specifications. I imagine and hope it's because of my infrastructure (the cables passing through the wall) and not the product itself. However, it should be somewhere mentioned that this speed also depends on other parameters and these should be clearly stated!
It does what it promises, I have used it in two houses and it connected instantly in both cases. In the one year that I have had it, it works without any errors
After a year of use, they have never disconnected. They are plugged into sockets of the same power strip with a 25m wiring distance and they achieve the desired result with a 10% loss compared to the vdsl packages I had. (With a 50mbps download, I reached a maximum of 45-46mbps with a stable 4-5mbps upload, while with a 100mbps download, I now reach 89-90mbps and a stable 9-10mbps upload). The best value for money kit on the market in my opinion.
It does the job just fine.
In a maisonette, it reaches the same speed as the router on the lower floor if connected with a cable (46 mbps).
There is a slight loss through WiFi. It reaches 40-43 mbps.

We bought it to provide internet on the other floor of the house. It does a very good job so far, 3 years later.
I bought this product so that I wouldn't have to run cables inside the house, an apartment with single-phase electricity, meaning an electrical panel. I plugged one end directly into the socket and the other end into the room from a 300 Mbps optical fiber line. I tested it in another room that is closer to the point where I wanted to go and I reached up to 135 Mbps. In conclusion, it doesn't matter if the Powerline is ONLY in the same electrical panel, but also in the same space, the same wiring, in the same safety, anywhere else and the further away we go, the connection is lost, at least in my case in a 100 sqm apartment. I tried it in the same space in different sockets and it worked properly, but only like that. I hope I helped, personally I installed a switch and got it from the room that had Ethernet and gave it directly to the adjacent room with a cable. I recommend it to someone who has close sockets that they want to connect and doesn't want to run cables. Now, for some people I've heard, I live in a detached house, I've put it on the ground floor and I get full speed on the first floor, what can I say, maybe the same wiring goes throughout the whole house, what can I say.
I bought it (over 2 years ago) when I still had a 50mbps line, with the 50mbps there is no discussion, everything is fine, no loss at 50mbps.
A couple of months ago I installed a 1000mbps inalan line, the powerline in the sockets that communicated with each other at 350+ mbps but the actual data transfer is only at 108mbps, I try in another socket (in the same room and both in neighboring sockets which I think are on the same line) and they communicate with each other at 600+ mbps but the actual data transfer is at 268mbps.
I can't know how good the electrical wiring of my house is, at the first opportunity I will try in other houses but they seem to work fine, maybe they could work a bit better but I am satisfied for my case.
I bought it for a 100 Mbps line, I was getting around 80 sometimes and 85 in a room 10 meters away from the outlets, which was a small issue as a slight loss was expected.
But now that I upgraded the line to a 200 Mbps, using the same cable on the router I get 210 and on the powerline it remains at 80-85, while the indication on the program they provide, when I paired the 2 devices, says it recognizes capability up to 230. Disappointing
I will tell you about my experience and my opinion based on my line. It is not worth its money, it does not have the speeds it claims, and they do not allow you to return the product if you have opened the packaging, a big flaw here. With a 1Gbps down/up line, it barely reaches 94 Mbps!! With a WiFi connection to the router, I get 600Mbps. They are fooling people, so it's a waste of money.
