    It looks like chocolate but it doesn't contain milk, making it suitable for those who are lactose intolerant. Its taste is decent. If I were to compare it taste-wise to commercially available chocolates, I would rate it slightly lower. I decided to see it as a separate product, one of the few currently available on the market, with a carob flavor and without lactose. Try it, but without expecting to taste a product identical to chocolate.
