    they came in use during COVID as a face protection. even now when there is a reason like the recent Sahara dust we had in Greece it protects your face. if you are vulnerable it makes sense to wear it when outdoors or in contact with other people. I personally use it for a few years while working among other people. it was mandatory but I did not mind. also a mouth mask is advisable to be used as well as the face mask has open sides so really the protection is ok only when you are facing someone else
