Plastic with a small wooden surface. Quite heavy for a 3+ month old baby it is intended for. The baby wants it and gets excited about the sound, but I don't give it to him since he already hit his head with it once.

Very good quality, and as my friend said, I really liked it.
Very beautiful and sturdy construction.
Unfortunately, after 8 months, it broke twice and was not fixed at all.
I also believe it is overpriced.
I do not recommend it, save your money and get a Fisher Price instead
