I have had the headphones for about 3 weeks now. My experience so far is simply incredible. I bought them for €92 but I see now that the price has gone up. Nevertheless, especially for €92, they have left me completely satisfied. Their sound is very good and powerful. They also have Dual Chamber Drivers, which you don't find in many headphones. They are lightweight but their construction is quite satisfactory. I have replaced the leather they come with, with the foam which is also very good and fits very well in the ears. Their installation is simply plug-and-play without the need for any software. I don't have an opinion on the microphone because I use an external mic. The microphone is detachable so that it doesn't bother you if you have an external mic.
They have very good performance both in bass and in more sensitive sounds. I play Apex and I can understand with great accuracy what is happening around me. Also, right now that I am wearing them, I am listening to music with the bass turned up and it is truly incredible, bravo! I wear them daily for at least 3-4 hours and my ears don't get tired (a little caution maybe if you wear long earrings because obviously they obstruct). Finally, I got them on sale that I found completely randomly, but even if you buy them at their regular price.. it's worth it! 10/10
I would like to start with the basics, and that is the sound.
My review of the sound will be based on my experience while listening to songs.
Any negative reviews you see regarding the simple sound or the lack of rich bass are mostly due to the sound card included with the headphones (the USB to jack with volume control).
I tried the Cloud Alpha S headphones on several laptops and desktop computers using 3.5mm jack ports, and on some computers, the sound was richer than on others (this is due to better built-in sound cards in some computers).
However, when I tried it with the external sound card (the USB to jack adapter), the sound remained the same "simple" (not loud and rich) no matter where I connected it.
Let's not get confused, the sound, regardless of its depth and bass, was always almost the same in terms of clarity.
I have ordered and received the Creative BlasterX G1 sound card, and this sound card gives the Alpha S headphones a different soul. It also has some of the features of the headphones' main sound card, such as mic monitoring and surround sound, among others.
With the BlasterX G1, they gain the volume and richness in sound that they didn't have before. I recommend purchasing an external sound card for these headphones.
Many of you may have tried the Razer Kraken headphones. Next, I will refer to the Kraken v2 USB. Along with the new G1 sound card, the Cloud Alpha S headphones are about 95% as rich in vocals and bass as the Kraken V2, but where they surpass the Kraken V2 by a large margin is in the clarity/distinction of instruments in light Metal, Rock, or symphonic music.
Games:
In games, I don't have any specific preference. For long hours of gaming, their own sound card may be better to ensure a more comfortable and easy listening experience for the desired game sounds.
The length of the headphone cable is 1 meter (up to the jack connector), which is a bit short, but their own sound card has a cable length of 2 or 3 meters.
You can still see some photos. In one of them, I compare their size approximately to a police ID card.
I was surprised by their small size/volume and flexibility, compared to the Razer Kraken.
Finally, the microphone is very quiet through the Headphone Jack on my laptop specifically (Asus ROG Strig G15 2020), which is strange because it sounds fine on my mobile phone. I had to boost it by at least +10db or +20db on my laptop to sound good. However, through the sound card, it works perfectly.
I apologize for the extensive length of this review, but I wanted to clarify what was happening with the sound and the sound card that troubled me for several hours.

I bought them from a well-known chain on offer for 80 euros, and although they have good build quality, sound isolation, and comfort, the problem they have due to the sound card is insurmountable. Practically, a solution I found to stop the sound distortion caused when combining two audio sources, such as gaming/music with voice chat/discord, is through the Windows sound settings by disabling chat. When this sound distortion occurs, it ruins the entire gaming experience, making them worthy of replacement with a headset with better software.
After 6 months of use, I was not impressed with the microphone as a construction, it has good volume but not so much the mobile phone's bugs have a louder sound. Sometimes when I turn on the PC, I have no sound at all, I have to unplug the USB and plug it back in to have sound. When you connect the headphones with the USB, which also has a sound card and manages the 7.1 volume, etc., you have weak sound. When you unplug this cable and connect the headphones with the jack, the sound is much louder, but the cable is short. Overall, I did not like my headphones, they were recommended to me and usually when they recommend something, things are not going well. The price should have been lower for what they offer
Former owner of HyperX Cloud2....as it is known, the Cloud 2 is an incredible headset for FPS games used by professionals. I can say that the Cloud Alpha S is even better in all aspects than the Cloud 2...you just have to get used to them specifically for FPS games...otherwise, in any other use, you will immediately realize that they were worth every penny.
To be honest, I didn't expect such a significant improvement in sound from the HyperX, since the Cloud 2, which is €10 cheaper, is considerably inferior to them, and these specific ones have a better color than the classic red (in my opinion). I would give them 4 stars, but the price and quality don't allow me to do so. I would tell you to get them blindly, but it depends on your budget. If you can spend an extra €20, you can go for the Logitech G Pro X, unless you don't care about the microphone, then go for the Blackout
It's good, I'm not saying it's not... but as far as the bass goes, it's not doing much... and as for the sound, it's only satisfactory with the 7.1 option, which is nothing more than a sound adjustment. Without this option, the sound is extremely low and it becomes like 3 euro headphones because you can't hear anything afterwards... as for the bass, even with the settings they have, you can barely hear it at full volume. I'm not even talking about having it at a moderate level or not having it at all, it's like it doesn't exist anywhere... I recommend it to everyone except those who want bass... I expected much more for the money they cost... 100 euros... in short, the same results as headphones that cost 20-30 euros... they just have good construction... that's it...!!!
Former owner of the cloud 2, I had them for several years, I decided to go a step further, after a week of use I noticed a higher quality sound, better bass, and more comfortable cushions, as the old ones had cracked leather and the cushions had been worn out due to use. Additionally, in FPS games, I feel like I have better sound direction, meaning I can better understand where footsteps and gunshots are coming from. Also, both headphones did not tire me out during long hours of use.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance both in gaming and music.
Very good headphones for chat, gaming, and listening to music, but not for sound professionals, despite the name. Quality construction with a sturdy feel and lightweight metal frame for comfortable use for over 3 hours. Two different earpads, leatherette and fabric, for different comfort and external sound isolation. There are also optional holes that can be closed and bass adjustment. Personally, I didn't want to block out the ambient sound since I use them at night when there is no external sound that needs to be blocked. Before changing the earpads, I tried them with the standard leatherette ones and felt very disconnected. So they do the job for those who need it.
The presence of the controller is very useful, but it is an additional weight in the middle of the cable that needs proper support and can detach if not placed correctly after use and can fall.
As I said, I use them at night. The sound controller only illuminates the button for muting the microphone and for 7.1 sound. Although the volume and other buttons are embossed, they are not visible, and if you don't use them often, you don't know what to press in the dark. So I rely only on adjusting the volume from the keyboard-central sound, which only controls the default channel and not both (party chat, game).
Another negative aspect that bothers me a lot is that Windows 10 does not recognize them permanently, and I have to unplug and plug them in again every time I turn on the PC and want to use them. When they are recognized, they stay connected, and I can easily change the source from the familiar Windows option. (An update with a solution follows).
I don't regret the money I spent; I feel like I got headphones that I will enjoy for a long time, not only for gaming but also for occasional chat and music.
4/17/21 Kingston provided me with the solution. I followed some easy steps and by installing the beta version of their software, I upgraded the headphones' sound card software, and everything works perfectly. Windows now recognizes them properly.
11/20/22 Two years later, the earpads have lost their ability to stay in place on the headphones, and the latex or whatever covering they had in some areas has come off. I will have to use the second pair with the leatherette that came with them and see if there are replacement fabric ones. I will consider if they will last another 2 years. These cannot be removed for washing since they don't collect sweat. However, the fabric ones are necessary during the warm months in any case. The necessity of each material is now clearer than ever.
Coming from the HyperX Cloud Stinger to the Cloud Alpha S, I have to say the best things. Amazing build quality and not cheap like Razer. The construction is premium. Solid build. Excellent leather ear cups. Cord-style cables. Exceptional quality overall.
The sound is very good. Tested in Apex Legends, where the game sound is mediocre, and the surround sound allows you to know exactly what's happening. With a little adjustment, of course, if you're coming from stereo to pseudo-surround, it might feel a bit different at first.
The microphone is very good. It also has noise canceling. External noise is not transferred to the microphone.
It has side tone for those interested and is compatible with PS4 (and surround sound with a firmware update on the sound card).
One negative aspect is that for those who want it for PS4, the party chat game volume mixer does not work at all. Whatever you do, it will be controlled through the console, and the voice changes. Opening the 7.1 and mute.

They continue to work as before. No problems so far and no damage. Not even on the leather. I wear them for about 4-5 hours a day.
The surround sound is amazing in Apex Legends, which I play, and in Overwatch, which I tried.
I bought them for 90 euros from the store, and I really don't regret a single euro.
I bought them after reading and seeing many foreign reviews, having also tried the first HyperX Cloud. The headphones are very good, I use them for many hours for music and gaming. The sound intensity is fine, I listen to music loudly but not to the point of deafening myself. I didn't expect anything special from the 7.1. Play with Dolby Atmos for headphones if you have the option for something better that works with all headphones. The isolation is impeccable, the build quality is amazing. The bass control works if you're interested in closing the bass, I always leave it open. The only negative thing I found is the short cable, but with the USB and the controller it becomes very long. Also, the cable comes out of the headphones and you can use another one, which was not possible with previous models. If you're not interested in bass control & 7.1, I think the HyperX Cloud Alpha is the same.
Regarding the cloud 2, they have 30% lower intensity, they left to return in 20 minutes, obviously it was terrible, the 7.1 was for celebration as if you were in a well, the tests were done in stereo mode which was supposed to deliver the maximum, it is unacceptable because if they had intensity because they have a cleaner sound in stereo than the cloud 2, they would have been amazing. I want to emphasize that I have a very good sound card Supreme FX S1220 codex which is the best for sound on a motherboard and it is the second time in my life after changing over 20 relatively expensive headsets that I have such a mess with headphones. I leave a possibility that it may have been defective, but for you not to see reviews from reputable sites, something smells fishy.
