The Zowie EC2 is a medium to large-sized mouse from BenQ. For many years, it was widely known as one of the best gaming mice, especially for FPS games. However, I wouldn't say it's worth the money for such a mouse anymore.

The EC2's sensor is the PMW 3360, quite old and inferior compared to the competition. There are now sensors with greater accuracy, fewer errors, and issues. The 3360 is not bad in reality, but it is an old and cheap sensor, and I don't accept something like that in such an expensive mouse.

It weighs only 94 grams. It is neither light nor heavy (like the G502). Compared to the competition, it is considered heavy now since you can find much lighter mice, even wireless ones. However, the most important thing is for something to feel comfortable in our grip, especially for Palm Grip, and the EC2 is quite convenient for people with medium to large palms.

I consider the cable to be bad for today, mediocre for when the mouse was released. However, this can be solved by using a Bungee that keeps the cable stable, such as the Razer Bungee V3 or the Zowie Camade II. This way, it will absorb vibrations that could bother you when playing, especially during sudden movements.

The mouse has three Polling Rate adjustment levels and four DPI levels, which you can select using the special buttons located on the bottom of the Zowie EC2.

On the bottom, you will find two standard Mousefeet, quite large, but with the typical performance of an old premium mouse, yet of higher quality than what Logitech still uses today or what you will find in budget mice. In general, it is not negative for some, but if you are coming from 100% PTFE Mousefeet, their quality will disappoint you. I recommend switching to After Market PTFE Mousefeet, they are cheap and make a big difference.

Unlike many other mice, the EC2 is completely plug-and-play and does not require any software. The Polling Rate and DPI adjustment buttons help with that. I would like the option of software for customizing the mouse to the user's preferences, as well as programming the side buttons. However, the lack of software makes it compatible with 100% of operating systems, such as macOS.

Overall, we are talking about a perfect mouse from the past, which is okay for today's use. I don't consider it a good purchase for someone in 2021, but if someone already has it and it suits them, they don't need to upgrade. It's not bad, but it's also not good for today.
