Both the dishwasher detergent and the corresponding salt do the job, I just believe that their price is high for a single use. Also, white vinegar with baking soda works wonders with regular use.

It does the job, but I didn't see a huge difference compared to vinegar and baking soda. Theoretically, it is designed not to damage the parts of the washing machine. Also, it is for maintenance, so if the washing machine has accumulated a lot of limescale, don't expect miracles.
