It has an extra function called super freezing that you cannot control. You can simply activate it whenever you need to cool large quantities immediately. However, when the machine deems it necessary, it activates it. And this can happen many times during the day. The noise is annoying to the point of nausea. I have called technicians and we will see. Just to give you an idea, when the super freezing motor is running, the relative sound application shows about 57 to 60 dB, measured in front of the freezer shelves with the door open. Do not be fooled by the 40 dB stated on the label, it is a lie. The highest value should be stated there, not the lowest. In other words, a little lie doesn't hurt, both from the manufacturer and the retailers.
I bought this refrigerator to replace a very old one that obviously made a terrible noise, and we finally thought our heads would be quiet. I inform you that the old one I had measured was at 50 dB. And yes, I have the expectation firstly that they should have pointed it out to me in the stores I went to and saw it, and secondly, a refrigerator that costs 1250 euros as the initial price, I expect it to be quiet and not sound like an espresso machine with 10 bars of pressure.Update: delayed update. After 8 months and a technician's visit, the freezer was adjusted to -20 and all problems were magically solved. Therefore, a change to 5 stars as the refrigerator is excellent. Get it yesterday.

The bad thing is that it activates quite often automatically without being full or opened and there is no way to deactivate this function.
Update: If you set the freezer to -20 degrees from the default -18 and the maintenance to 3 from the default 4, then the motor is activated at maximum very rarely and only for a few seconds.
