The ultimate motorcycle GPS with waterproofing in rain and resistance to any temperature I have encountered. The screen is excellent with perfect responsiveness to touch even when wearing gloves and readable in bright sunlight. As a GPS, it immediately finds the destination without any freezing or related malfunctions. What I don't like is that many points of interest need to be searched for on my mobile through Garmin Drive in order to find them. In other words, if you don't have signal on your mobile, you won't find your destination. It's better to have the points saved beforehand. When the destination is entered into the device, it should not have spelling errors in order to be able to perform the search, which is a common problem when searching for something in a foreign country or even within Greece. The negatives also include the temperature and altitude display, as it shows 12 meters in height on the surface of the sea. It could have a battery percentage during navigation because I consider it a mistake to have it on permanent charging for the health of its battery.
Satisfying and readable screen even with the sun behind it. Quality construction and fast in calculations. It finds satellites even underground. It has "smart" motion management as it studies daily habits and starting "knows" where you are going and gives you an estimated travel time. What would I like additionally? An ambient temperature sensor (which it has but is not active, it shows me the temperature at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport while I am in Alimos...) and compatibility with the TPMS tire pressure sensor system. Otherwise, yes, it is expensive, but it carries a lot of technology. It has been tested in water. It remains to prove its durability against dust and vibrations.
UPD 21/2/23. It has already given very reliable samples. Occasionally it gets stuck on the name of the next street with which you will intersect (not on the map, only on the name) and also I don't know where it gets weather data from, as on a sunny day with 18C it showed 2C. Otherwise, flawless so far.
UPD 19/7/23 It passed the heat test without any problems. As a device, the plastic cover may have reached 50 degrees Celsius. However, neither the screen nor the performance were affected at all. A few small errors in mapping (mainly street routing) cannot spoil the overall picture.
For me, guys, I struggle with it. You may be more familiar with these things. I go for rides on my motorcycle just to learn it, so that when the trip happens, I can do something. I come back today on 12/6/22 to evaluate the waterproofing of the GPS, after the heavy rains we had in northern Greece, I have to say the best. Chairs, tables, and whatever other furniture was falling. The machine is unstoppable. As for the menu I had written (for me), it remains difficult. Whoever wants to buy it, because it is expensive, it is good to first consider if they are familiar with electronic devices. I don't want to scare you, to warn you. Have safe travels. Also, for the battery, I would like it to have a percentage indicator on the screen, so you know when it will shut down, like on mobile phones. For a company like GARMIN, it is not justified in 2022.
Finally, a waterproof GPS for motorcycle use. As the owner of the previous model, Zumo 595, which cost 630 euros including the connection accessories, the Zumo XT comes at a cost of 430 euros and makes a difference in every aspect. It has a bright screen with a special coating to avoid sunlight interference, satisfactory battery life (although it is permanently connected to the motorcycle's battery), quick screen response, and perfect handling with special gloves. It is half an inch larger than its predecessor, which really makes a difference for those of us who have started to have difficulty seeing up close. It has already been tested this year on a trip to 4 countries abroad and it was truly a pleasure. And of course, it includes maps of the whole of Europe with free lifetime updates (it can also easily get maps from open maps, for example, of Russia). Here you will find a review in Greek: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtGGXAsKx4Y. It is worth its money and will not disappoint you anywhere!
Very nice instead of looking at your phone's GPS and getting dizzy or having a safety accident.
