Stunning Portability
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 12–45mm F4 PRO is the world's most compact and lightweight lens, ensuring exceptional portability and comfort. Weighing just 254 grams, it features extremely fast autofocus, so you never miss a shot while on the move or capturing fast-moving subjects. Its dust and splash-resistant design provides complete freedom on any photographic mission.
High Resolution
Thanks to the renowned M.Zuiko construction, you have a lens that ensures sharp images from edge to edge at every focal length, as well as beautiful defocusing effects throughout the zoom range. The ZERO-coated lens system reduces aberrations, unwanted reflections, and light loss at the edges, providing brightness and clarity across the entire scene.
Exceptional Macro Capabilities
This lens is everything you need for wide-angle macro shots that emphasize perspective or telemacro shots with defocusing effects. With a maximum magnification of 0.25x and a closest focusing distance of 12 cm or 23 mm, you can enjoy a variety of macro expressions. It also supports Focus Stacking, capturing up to 15 photos at different focal positions and merging them into one photo.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
After 4 months in my possession, I gradually have a good image of the lens.
Let's go to the positives:
+ Excellent image quality, especially the contrast is impressive.
+ Sturdy construction, at the levels of a professional lens.
+ Good sharpness, even at wide apertures (f4).
+ Useful focal length, 24-90 in full frame equivalent.
+ Very good macro.
+ Very good price, especially if you find a deal, compared to similar lenses for larger sensors.
Negatives now:
- Bulky, especially if replacing a kit lens, like the 12-32 I have.
- The zoom ring is more "loose" than I would like.
- Lack of a selector for manual focus change.
These are from an amateur.
Comparison is made with the 12-32, 25mm f1.8, 15mm f1.7 that I have/had for years.
Conclusion: If you want to upgrade your kit lens or are thinking of buying a new camera with 1000+ euros, instead of a Full Frame with a kit lens, this excellent alternative exists.
Unexpectedly incredible lens pleasantly surprised me, perhaps sharper than the 12-40
