- This review is about the colour: Black
It was purchased as a replacement for the Mirka due to the expiration of the Z. I bought this one because it was cheaper, smaller in size, and had a similar keyboard layout to the Mirka. In comparison to the Mirka, it is much inferior in many aspects, and despite being 130 euros cheaper in cost, I wouldn't say it's worth it, especially since there are definitely better options available even at the same price.
Many negatives:
1. When the tape reaches the end (somewhere just before the red tape indicator), it stops pulling it (continuing to print lines on top of each other) due to poor design of the mechanism, and you end up throwing away 1.5+ meters of unused tape each time. In a kiosk that prints hundreds of receipts daily, in the 5 years that the cash register will last, I will have thrown away about 3 kilometers of tape (around 120 rolls).... so whatever I saved in the purchase cost, I will pay back with interest in tape... I didn't have this problem with the Mirka, of course.2. With the Mirka, with a simple press of the "partial" button, it would display the total for the day on the screen, and we could quickly check where we were, which was very useful in a kiosk where receipts can sometimes not be cut due to the rush of customers or heavy traffic, and we might have to cut extra. With the Norma, you have to enter the menu, navigate through it (10 movements + 7 to go back to sales = 17) to print(!) a cash register check, while it could simply display it on the screen.... additional unnecessary waste of tape.
3. The multiplication method is unacceptable when you want to multiply pieces by price (it requires one extra step compared to the Mirka, which often leads to errors when you have to hit multiple different products), obviously because the cash register was designed with the main target of popular markets and mini markets that sell goods based on weight. It should have an alternative in the settings for the multiplication method (weight/pieces).
4. Whether the Z was sent successfully or not, it prints it at the end of the Z, using "quite a bit" of paper (additional waste of tape), while the Mirka would print it in a much smaller space, and only if the shipment had failed, you would see it on the screen.
5. When printing a receipt, the cash drawer doesn't open at the end as it should. You have to wait for 1 second after the process is finished and press the "drawer" button to open it... no logic...
6. When in standby mode, it doesn't display the time/date, which is a very simple feature that the Mirka had and I imagine most cash registers have. Not particularly important, but definitely useful to have. To see the time/date, you have to exit the sales screen....
Positive aspect:
Something that I hadn't found if it exists in the Mirka but exists in the Norma, in case of a failed Z transmission, it has the option to resend it in the menu.Translated from Greek ·- Volume
