Description
BTW1040 toilet seat cover by Bormann, which you can use either to replace your old worn-out cover or to give your bathroom a sense of renewal. It features a slow-closing mechanism, which with a gentle push closes slowly and quietly, without needing to be manually lowered to the base of the toilet.
It is made of Bakelite, which essentially consists of boards coated with sheets of synthetic materials that resemble wood. The major advantages of Bakelite are that it has great durability over time, is easy to clean, and is resistant to stains and scratches.
Finally, the cover should remain closed after each use as this limits germs in the bathroom, while also preventing moisture from spreading in the space.

Very satisfied with the toilet lid. You leave it and it closes gently automatically without noise.
Good quality construction for the money you pay. I will try to help with the image of how it should be placed and in 10 minutes we will be ready.
1) We start with the black plastic-rubber round base (2 pieces) which is placed from the top side of the toilet in the 2 holes where we press it and it sits perfectly until the end.
2) Then we screw the top lid of the base by 90% and then we also put the lid of the toilet so that we center it and see where the lid fits well on our toilet, front, back, right, and left.
3) Then we AGAIN remove the lid of the toilet where we centered before AND now we screw tightly 100% (the remaining 10%) the top base with the cross-screwdriver. CAUTION, we NOW ALSO place the stainless steel round lid and we finish with the base.
4) We place the lid of the toilet on the 2 bases and as soon as it clicks, we are ready.

It has a system for easy installation, with screws that, when screwed in, increase the diameter on the rubber that enters the two holes of the toilet bowl and is supposed to tighten. Unfortunately, even with full tightening, because it relies on rubber, it cannot be properly stabilized and comes off its position (front-back and right-left). It would be better to have regular screws, even if I had to bend down for installation. The even worse thing is that in an upright position at 90°, the mechanism's spring for smooth closing slightly pushes the seat, causing it to fall. In other words, it should be positioned in such a way that when the lid and seat are raised, they have a much greater angle, above 90°, which may not be possible in all toilet bowls. Even if you manage to place it at an angle >90°, it will soon come off its position due to the first problem I mentioned. The only positive aspects are that it is made of bakelite (although it is not filled with material throughout its thickness) and there are diagrams with all its dimensions available on the internet.

Regardless of what everyone says, it has very good stability. It's just that the mechanism is such that the screw must be tightened all the way. Essentially, the nut that is inside the silicone needs to be screwed in until it reaches the top. The holes were difficult to fit into, but I pushed them in with a screwdriver. The quality of the lid is very good and overall very economical.

Good quality. Not wow, but well-made. The brake works well. In this specific 1020, one problem is that the sides are somewhat thin, so it's not very comfortable for sitting. I think a heavier person will have an issue.
Now for the installation. I believe it's a matter of the toilet bowl. I installed two, in Ideal from the '80s and '90s. In the older one, it wouldn't fit at all. I ruined the gaskets with a knife, climbed on top to push it in, sweated, even used soap. Finally, after a lot of struggle, it went in and seems to be stable. In the newer one, it went in within five minutes. The difference? The holes in the old one are a bit smaller, and they have a depth of 2+ male fingers. In the newer one, the depth is 1 finger, at most. Even a housewife can install it! They wrote something about "upas," something about nuts, about lubricant... Guys, it's simple: there are two black rubber pieces with female threads inside the package, we take them ALONE and push one into each hole, all the way in to fit the "groumbouli" they have (one in the comments says "it wobbles" and posted a photo where they put in half :-P), so if the groumbouli doesn't fit, we use pliers from below and pull to push the rubber all the way in, from above you'll only see one hole. Then we place the bases with the silver horns on top that will fit the lid, we screw it almost all the way, we see where the lid will sit (we twist the round part of the base a little to the right and a little to the left depending on where we see that the distance between the two horns is correct for the lid to fit) and we screw it all the way! Then we put the blue ones (optional) and place the lid one hole on each horn! I can't imagine what could go wrong! One writes about the distances in the holes, but even if the distances are small, just twist the round part with the horn a little on each base and that way you increase the distance! And then screw it in permanently.

The build quality is great, worth the money. Now, in the first bowl I was lucky, it went in easily, the mechanism fit, all good. In the second one, I struggled and after two hours I hadn't achieved much. I had to make a cut in the rubber with a knife to reduce the thickness and make them pass through the hole. Unacceptable support system, no matter how much you tighten it, it wobbles... It would have been better to bend down twice during installation and have a stable lid. Additionally, the closing system is desperately slow. If you want to close the lid before flushing (because, for example, it splashes everywhere), it is desperately slow to close. It should drop normally and the soft close should activate in the last 4-5 centimeters, not from the beginning... Very good product at a privileged price that unfortunately loses points due to the fake support system as almost all buyers have previously mentioned. For example, in my case, the rubber washers that hold the screws, besides being quite difficult to fit into the toilet (needed lubrication with grease spray), when they finally fit, one of the two simply detached the metal element inside it, making it completely useless. Fortunately, on the other hand, there are aftermarket support systems available at a cost of about 3 € which save the situation.

FINALLY! After 4 failed purchases in the range of 30-60€, I bought the "cheap" cap....
It has very good supports (rare) which are also easy to install. Quick, easy, and sturdy. The cap easily goes in and out of the supports with a button, and the supports can also be easily disassembled (if needed).
