I bought it to use it on a gas stove and not on a gas grill, for which it is designed. As for a cast iron pan, the pan cooks better. Its advantage is that it is easier to clean than the cast iron pan. Its disadvantage is that it does not have a specific way to drain the fats, resulting in it dirtying the kitchen quite a bit when I use it. Would I buy it again? I would prefer something with a larger surface area that drains the fats.
