If you want them for a pull-up bar on a cylindrical iron bar, don't buy them. They have padding in the wrong places and it's harder to achieve the same number of repetitions as without gloves. And for callus protection, I don't think they offer much (again due to the position of the padding). For weights, they are probably better.
